There’s big changes’ coming for the video game featuring everyone’s favorite hockey mask wearing killer. Sadly before you get excited, sorry, there’s no new content coming out for “Friday the 13th: The Game”, see this previous article for details. Illfonic, the indie game developer that was partnered with Gun Media will be handing over the reins to Tokyo based indie game developer, Black Tower Studios. Black Tower Studios was formed in 2012 and have two RPG games under their belt with “Archangel” and “Magus“. The development team is made up of veterans of the gaming industry. Over the past year, Illfonic and Black Tower Studios have been working together leading up to the gradual transition. Both sides worked on creating the Pinehurst and Jarvis House maps/levels. Funko and BoxLunch teamed up to create unique collector’s item for fans, FunkO’s, a cereal. They’ve already come out with “Lord of the Rings Gollum” where inside is a Pocket Pop! version of everyone’s little tormented former Hobbit. Now they have a “Beetlejuice” themed cereal with everyone’s favorite ghoul waiting inside, and you don’t have to say his name three times! What makes these products (and BoxLunch in general) awesome is the fact that buying them will provide one meal to a person in need. For those not familiar, BoxLunch is a website that sells pop culture memorabilia but with a humanitarian twist. For every $10 you spend, a meal is provided for a person in need. What’s cooler, they even have exclusive collectibles you can only find there, here’s a tease of what you may find!

Kane Hodder is Jason Voorhees…I mean he isn’t actually the masked maniac, Jason is a fictional character (in case any of you are complete idiots) but, he was definitely the actor that made the role his own, and gave the Friday the 13th film series’ icon a real personality (not an easy task considering Hodder’s face is never seen on film without heavy prosthetic make-up, nor does he utter a single line of dialog in his four on screen stints as the character) comprised of distinct movements. And as you can imagine, any documentary about the man had better well and duly cover his most famous role…and this one satisfies in that department for sure, but there is so much more to learn in To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story. Coming in at roughly twenty or so minutes into the narrative, the story of how Kane received the scars that have been visible in interviews and his unmasked

Today, the makers of the popular multiplayer horror game, “Friday the 13th: the Game” announced there will no further developments or updates to the game. The game’s developer Gun Media’s founder and President Wes Keltner says all they (the developers) can focus on now with the game is fixing glitches/bugs in the game and maintenance on console servers. The plans for new Jason characters, locations, and councilors were slashed due to an ongoing lawsuit between the original film writer Victor Miller and its director/producer Sean Cunningham who currently owns the rights to “Friday the 13th”. Miller’s suit claims that he is, in fact, the rightful owner of the rights to the franchise since he was the one who wrote the story and created the famous mask wearing antagonist Jason Voorhees. Miller has hinted at some scorn in a past interview he did with us back in 2015. “I know this isn’t the news you wanted to hear and I wish

The upcoming throwback slasher flick Slatter Camp is heading to Friday the 13th’s Camp Crystal Lake, sort of. Every film in the Friday the 13th franchise may be tied to the same camp but in reality, they were all filmed in different locations. Jason Lives was actually filmed at Georgia’s Camp Daniel Morgan, 30 years later a new film is headed to the camp. Brandon Tobatto’s Splatter Camp is currently running a campaign on Kickstarter to raise funds for his homage to 80’s slashers filmed at Camp Daniel Morgan. “Splatter Camp is a full-length feature film that tells the story of a group of young filmmakers who, while filming a documentary at the long since closed CAMP CANDY, discover that the legend of SCARY LARRY may be more than just fiction when a string of murders start picking them off, one-by-one. Things only worsen for the survivors when distrust begins to tear them apart, for how could Scary Larry be

First off, no, it’s not a new level. In fact, it’s a place players of the game DON’T want to go. The multiplayer-based game Friday the 13th: The Game has a group of players taking on the role of “councilors” at Camp Crystal Lake while another player is selected to be the behemoth masked killer Jason who hunts them down and kills them. Players can escape different ways from the camp only when they complete the right tasks to accomplish the chosen method of escape. Of course, like any other online game players deal with the second most despised online player gamers hate encountering, “the salty”. In gaming, “salty” describes a player who gets upset at losing or being out-played by another player this immediately then leads them to turn into the next type of gamer people hate encountering online, the rager. A “rager” is a player who is enraged who usually stays in a state of rage for the

It just doesn’t get any better than horror fans. Time and again they prove not only to be dedicated but some of the most awesome people out there. One fan, Curtis Lahr took his love of Friday the 13th to the next level. Lahr created an underwater scene straight out of Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. Let me refresh your memory. At the end of the film, Tommy Jarvis stops Jason Voorhees by chaining him to the bottom of Crystal Lake putting him back in the same spot where he died as a kid. The image of Jason floating there chained is one of the most iconic horror images out there. In 2014 Lahr brought the scene to life and constructed a life-size statue and installed it at a popular diving location in Crosby, Minnesota. The statue has just now been discovered by divers and it has gone viral. Take a look.

There were a lot of complaints that Jason Vorhee’s was too powerful when Friday the 13th: The Game first came out. He could teleport, throw knives, and chase down teenagers at inhuman speeds. But as people got better at the game, Jason gradually lost his edge. A team of eight good counselors can absolutely dominate Jason, whooping his ass in ways the big momma’s boy would never be beat in the movies. The good people at Gun Media have felt us gamers pains though, addressing the problem in a post on Reddit. “We’ve seen your reports; our Jason characters aren’t scary. We’ve seen the videos of counselors running circles around Jason and smacking him upside the head, repeatedly, while he quietly resigns himself to his fate. We’ve even seen videos of Jason being forced to run away while being chased by 4 Chads with baseball bats. That’s not cool, and Chad is a dick. As such, we will be implementing
