‘Alien: Blackout’ Coming Soon?

Fans of the Alien franchise are learning today that 20th Century Fox recently purchased the trademark for the title “Alien: Blackout” under the category for video games. With the trademark purchase possibly means within a month or two there will be an announcement. Many are assuming the game’s announcement will be at the upcoming award ceremony The Game Awards as the slogan for the event this year is “Worlds Will Change” which first appeared on Geoff Keighley’s (The host of the ceremony) twitter. The slogan along with its appearance is hauntingly familiar with the company slogan of the Alien franchises human antagonist, Weyland-Yutani, whose motto is “Building better worlds” Another post on twitter that’s making fans squirm with excitement comes from gaming legend Hideo Kojima. Kojima who’s known to fans for making the best games in the industry like the “Metal Gear” and “Zone of Enders” series, and the horror sensation “PT”, tweeted that he visited 20th Century Fox and

Meet Atlas, Boston Dynamic’s ‘Running’ Robot

Boston Dynamics are at it again, showing off their latest achievements while at the same time terrifying some members of the public. Yesterday Boston Dynamics posted a video on Youtube showing their latest breakthrough, Atlas. Atlas is one of the latest humanoid robots created by the tech giant but Atlas can do something we have not seen a robot do on two legs…run. Well, to be honest, it’s more like jogging, but Atlas is able to do so without power cables, and no hoists keeping it upright etc. Some find the appearance of Atlas and other robots from Boston Dynamics to be disturbing because of the lack of faces. Many have made comparisons between Atlas and Terminators as well as the killer robots from I Robot and drawing comparisons to the malfunctioning Synthetics from the Alien movies. The 4 foot 9 robot is able to jog on even and uneven terrain due to its ability to maintain balance, showcasing that

‘The Peterson Case’, A Detective Game That’s Out Of This World

The developers at Quarter Circle Games will plunge players into a detective story like no other in The Peterson Case, a truly unique horror game set in 1947 Roswell, New Mexico. You are Franklyn Reinhardt, a detective, and you’re looking into the disappearance of the Peterson family. While investigating the house, Reinhardt discovers there is something else in the empty home. Players will have to solve puzzles that will help Reinhardt discover what happened to the Peterson family. The obvious element of the story is that The Peterson Case involves aliens, 1947 in Roswell ‘nough said, but it’s not the typical alien encounter type gameplay, it seems to be more cerebral. Reinhardt (from what can be seen in the trailer) is taken to different places or events in his life where it seems the extraterrestrials are pulling the strings. The Peterson Case will be out sometime in 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

‘Alien’ Skeleton Causes Scientific Crisis

Last month, the six-inch skeletal remains of what appears to be an alien infant, that’s being kept in a private collection, underwent DNA testing and proved once and for all that the skeleton is in fact of this planet and is human. The remains are that of a female fetus who had a form of a bone disease that caused the child’s death before being born. The remains were found in the Atacama Desert in Chile by an armature collector two decades ago. Sorry, Ancient Aliens guy. The testing done on the remains of the Atacama child using new methods of testing DNA proves that it’s possible to determine the death of skeletal remains of ancient people. With the testing, scientists determined by mapping her genomes that she was part of the indigenous culture in the Atacama but had significant DNA traits belonging to Europeans. With the science to back it up archeologists were able to determine through historical accounts

‘Monster Goat’ In Viral Video Is No Monster

During the last 24/48 hours, a video went viral on the internet showing what looks like a nightmarish spawn that was the result of a from a Lovecraft story and a fever dream going home together from the bar. Yes, the video is in fact real. No, it’s no monster or freak of nature; it’s a goat, a normal goat. I know, I can hear some of you now, “What’s normal about that?!” well, first of all, it’s an actual breed of goat called the Damascus Goat. It goes by many names like the Aleppo, Halep, Baladi, Damascene, Shami, or Chami. They’re a goat breed found in Syria, Cyprus, and Lebanon and are highly valued. The Damascus is bred for its milk which is used to make cheese, meat, and hides. Think of them as the cows of their region, these goats aren’t little either, they grow to a decent size which makes them important, they even breed some for

Movie Review: Imitation Girl is Thoughtful Sci-Fi at it’s Best!

A wad of black ooze rockets down from the stars and lands on some kids spank mag and assumes the form of Julianna Fox (Lauren Ashley Carter), the world’s leading porn star (I swear to you this is an arthouse sci-fi drama…just bear with me). This creature, Imitation, wanders through the desert before she is taken in by a family from whom she learns about humanity and actually being a human being. Meanwhile, in New York City, Julianna is growing weary of the adult biz (and her drug dealing side hustle), and she jumps at the chance to audition for a prestigious musical conservatory (seems she was a great pianist before she took up the skin flute) after a chance meeting with an old teacher. Eventually our alien protagonist becomes aware of who she copied, and sets off to the city to meet her other half face to face. While the description above sounds like it could easily dovetail into

Mothman In Chicago?!

Since February of last year, over 55 eyewitnesses in the city of Chicago have reported something strange flying in the sky and concluded that it’s the famous Mothman. Mothman is a cryptid resembling a tall man with large wings like that of a moth, its notable feature is its large red glowing eyes that resemble brake lights. The creature was first reported in 1966 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia and the sightings lasted until December 15, 1967, after the collapse of the Silver Bridge leaving many to believe that the Mothman was either a warning or harbinger of the incident that claimed 46 lives. The debate back then continues to this day, trying to figure out what exactly is the mothman, some say it’s a supernatural creature, others believe it’s an alien, and there have even been suggestions that it’s a failed experiment from WWII since most of the original sightings were around McClintic Wildlife Management Area or as the

Ridley Scott Planning Another ‘Alien’ Film

Fans of the Alien franchise will be happy to learn that even though critics weren’t a big fan of Alien: Covenant, Ridley Scott has not given up on the franchise. In fact, he still has plans to make another film. Even though Scott has several projects underway, including re-shooting scenes from All the Money thanks to Kevin Spacey being replaced after sexual harassment allegations, and preparing for his next film which is an adaption of Don Winslow’s The Cartel, Scott has definite plans to continue the Alien franchise. Scott told EW about his plan: We are [going to make another], we are. I think what we have to do is gradually drift away from the alien stuff.” He continued, “People say,’You need more chest bursting,’ so I put a lot of that in Covenant and it fit nicely. But I think if you go again you need to start finding another solution that is more interesting. I think AI is

Extraterrestrials Invade VOD In ‘Alien: Reign Of Man’

Though not the xenomorphs created by legendary artist H.R. Giger and made famous by director Ridley Scott, Uncork’d Entertainment’s Alien: Reign of Man will bring us face-to-face with a new breed of hostile space-creeps. Alien: Reign of Man spins the tale of some sort of team working to activate some sort of machine to save Earth, while stranded on some planet, battling the titular aliens. From what I’ve seen in the trailer, the film appears to be an indie mockbuster somewhere in between Alien: Covenant and Interstellar. Directed by Justin Price (Dark Moon Rising), and starring Deanna Grace Congo, Torrei Hart, Khu, and Cameron White, the low-budget sci-fi horror comes to VOD August 1, with a DVD release slated for November 14, 2017. Though I’ve yet to see the film, I’m highly skeptical of its quality. Judge for yourself by watching the official trailer of Alien: Reign of Man below.

Sigourney Weaver Again Battles Otherworldly Menace In Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Rakka’

After Neill Blomkamp‘s failed attempt at adding a fifth installment to the ‘Alien’ franchise, the visionary sci-fi director announced the creation of his own film production company, Oats Studios. The first offering from the studio is the short ‘Rakka’, a gritty, post-apocalyptic alien invasion film set in the near future. The film opens somewhere in Texas, in the year 2020. From the outset, each frame absolutely oozes an ultra-bleak, dystopian atmosphere. The world as we know it is no more; in its place is a brutal hellscape in which nearly all of humanity (well, what’s left of it anyhow) is enslaved by a barbaric, if highly advanced species of reptilian extraterrestrials. The aliens erect monolithic mega structures used to generate an atmosphere suitable for their crops and breathing needs, and treat humans as test subjects, or pests to be eliminated. Though primitive in appearance, the aliens seem to possess telekinetic and telepathic abilities, allowing them to use mind control to
