Ridley Scott Has Spoken On The Fate Of Neill Blomkamp’s ALIEN 5

In 1979 Ridley Scott deftly merged the genres of horror and science fiction with his legendary film, Alien. Then 57 years later, Ellen Ripley would face off against the xenomorph threat again – and this time she’d have backup. OK it was actually only 7 years later that Jim Cameron, would continue on where Scott had left off with his sequel, Aliens. And although it’s more of a sci-fi action thriller and less horror, it has a definite place in the franchise and is a classic in its own right. Then there was Alien 3, the fork in the road so to speak. This third installment was left in the hands of rookie director, David Fincher, despite the fact that they didn’t really seem to trust him enough to direct it according to his vision. Fincher cited incessant studio intrusion as the biggest reason he not only couldn’t make the film he wanted, butr was also why he walked off

Women (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: ALIEN DAY TWOFER! Sigourney Weaver And Veronica Cartwright

Greetings, my Little Xenomorphs. Yes, I know you’re all accustomed to the moniker of Little Monsters, but today is the 26th of April or 4/26, thus making it ALIEN DAY! I trust I don’t need to explain the relevance of the number combination in relation to the movie Alien. BUT, for those of you who don’t know, it’s a reference to the planet, known as LV-426, where the crew of the star-freighter Nostromo first encountered the facehugger that “impregnated” Ash (played by the late great John Hurt). OK, that’s enough of that, because we’re here to focus on TWO wonderful Women of Horror today. That’s right, count ’em…one, two. As you can clearly see, the focus today is on the only two female female cast members of Ridley Scott’s classic 1979 film, Alien – Veronica Cartwright and Sigourney Weaver. Both of these ladies would grace the world with their presence in 1949. Veronica A. Cartwright was born on April 20th

(Image: Profiles in History) Brett’s Nostromo crew cap (Alien) This Nostromo crew cap was worn by cult actor Harry Dean Stanton as engineering technician Brett in Alien. When Stanton auditioned for the part, his first words to director Ridley Scott were “I don’t like sci-fi or monster movies.” Nonetheless, he won the role and was famously dispatched by the creature whilst searching for the ship’s cat Jones. New Nightmarish Poster Revealed For ALIEN: COVENANT

Well hello my Little Monsters. As you may have just seen above, a deliciously dark and scary new poster for Alien: Covenant has just been released. This image seems to be a xenomorph depiction of “The Gates of Hell” by Rodin. If you are not familiar with it, Google it, because it’s an astounding sight to behold. Perhaps this image is meant to signify the “hell” that will rain down upon the characters in this prequel to Scott’s 1979 film Alien. I don’t know about any of you, but with each trailer, image or poster that gets released for this movie, I start fiending like crazy. AND WE ARE STILL ALMOST TWO LONG MONTHS AWAY FROM THE RELEASE DATE! Whew…sorry about that, but I am seriously psyched to see this new installment of the Alien franchise. I think I’m beginning to understand how Renton from Trainspotting felt when he was trying yo kick the skag. Maybe that’s overstating it, but

Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant Follow Up Now Has A Title

Yes my Little Monsters, as I have previously reported, Ridley Scott is planning ahead and already has a follow up to Alien: Covenant on deck and ready to begin shooting next year. Scott’s Alien franchise prequel trilogy would be rounded out with the inclusion of Alien: Awakening. But it appears that the order of the film trilogy’s chronology is different than fans would have anticipated. Scott spoke with Fandango recently and stated, “It will go Prometheus, Awakening, Covenant“, thus making this next possible film in the series both a prequel AND a sequel. Scott’s motivation for this next film likely mirrored the feelings of Prometheus fans when he expressed, “I’d love to explore where the hell [Dr. Shaw] goes next and what does she do when she gets there, because if it is paradise, paradise can not be what you think it is. Paradise has a connotation of being extremely sinister and ominous … I know where it’s going. I

Alien: Covenant Sequel? Ridley Scott Is Ready If And When Fox Is.

So here we are, my Little Monsters, just a little over two not short enough months away from Ridley Scott’s newest Alien franchise installment, Alien: Covenant. This film furthers the story-line that began with Scott’s 2012 film Prometheus. It was originally intended that Prometheus would in effect act as a prequel to Scott’s 1979 film, Alien. but as most fans will attest, while the film answered many questions it asked a hell of a lot more that now need to be answered – enter Alien: Covenant. Now Scott gets the chance to begin tying up loose ends left to unravel by the previous screenwriters on Prometheus. From the trailers that have been released thus far it looks like Scott is bringing back the essence of his 1979 classic. In an interview with the Sidney Morning Herald, Michael Fassbender stated, “They’ve gone back to the Alien mood in terms of the thriller-horror aspect of it but we have the scale of

New Image Of Katherine Waterston From Alien: Covenant Gives Off A Serious Ripley Vibe

The first image of Katherine Waterston has landed from ‘Alien: Covenant’, via Entertainment Weekly, and she gives off a serious Ripley vibe. Waterston stars alongside Noomi Repace, James Franco, Danny McBride, Michael Fassbender, Demian Bichir, Alex England , Billy Crudup, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez. “Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.” We will also get to see a new type of Xenomorph, called a “Neomorph” in ‘Covenant’. The Neomorph were created by an infestation of a type of black goo on their planet that allowed the ecosystem to mutate. The creatures begin their lives in pods growing on trees, which infect their hosts via their ears and bursts out through their victims’

The Muppets Spoof Alien In A New Episode Of Pigs In Space

Many of you will remember the Muppets’ series ‘Pigs in Space’, which NBC cancelled years ago. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen the Muppets in one of their iconic spoofs, until now. They’re back! In a new video, titled ‘Pigs in Space Alien: Look Who’s Coming to Dinner’, the Muppets spoof one of the most highly recognized scenes in sci-fi-horror history, the chest-buster scene from ‘Alien’. Kirk R. Thatcher, who has been associated with the Muppets for many years, directed the ‘Alien’ themed episode of ‘Pigs in Space’. Don’t worry, we haven’t seen the last of the series. We can expect several more episodes as part of the new mini-series. Enjoy.
