Movie Review: Creepy-Creatures Double-Feature – V.C.I. Blu-ray

V.CI. have gone creature crazy and have slapped two spine-tinglers from the golden age of Drive-in madness together on one Blu-ray disc titled (appropriately enough) Creepy-Creatures Double-Feature! This monster mash gets underway with The Crawling Hand from 1963… A manned space mission goes tits-up in the worst possible way resulting in a self-destruct request from an astronaut that’s miraculously lived without oxygen for over twenty minutes. The cosmic wreckage from said blast rains down over a small California beach town where it’s discovered by young science student Paul (Rod Lauren) and his Nordic gal pal, Marta (Sirry Steffen). Among the debris is one of our bomb-shattered astronauts arms with hand still attached (which is solid for title accuracy’s sake), and soon that arcane appendage is up and about causing that patented monster mayhem died-in-the-wicked-wool Monsterkids like us love six ways to Sunday… but, that horrid hand doesn’t stop there as it possesses Paul for a lil’ Jekyll n’ Hyde riffage!

Pack Your Bags (and Space Suits): The Ark Season 3 Trailer is Here!

SYFY’s favorite cosmic survival simulator is back. “The Ark” is officially returning for Season 3, and because space apparently wasn’t dangerous enough, the crew of Ark 1 is about to pull a classic “divide and conquer.” Today, the network dropped the official trailer for the upcoming season, which blasts onto screens July 29th. Location, Location, Location… and Liability Season 3 picks up right after the crew successfully establishes their shiny new colony, Homebase 1. But because a quiet life in the suburbs of space makes for terrible television, things get complicated fast: The Away Team: Captain Garnet and a brave (or perhaps just overly optimistic) crew are heading back into the void. Their mission? Scour the cosmos for other Earth survivors who didn’t get the memo. The Home Team: The rest of the crew stays behind to decorate Homebase 1 and explore the neighborhood. Naturally, they stumble upon an unsettling planetary secret that instantly ruins the housewarming party and makes

Steven Spielberg Taps Heretic and A Quiet Place Duo for Mysterious New Sci-Fi Flick

If you had “Scott Beck and Bryan Woods team up with Steven Spielberg” on your 2026 Hollywood bingo card, go ahead and collect your winnings. The filmmaking duo behind A Quiet Place and A24’s recent theological thriller Heretic are officially heading back into the cosmos. The Hollywood Reporter dropped the news that Beck and Woods are set to write and direct a brand-new, untitled, “high-concept” science fiction movie for Universal and Amblin Entertainment. And yes, the King of Sci-Fi himself, Steven Spielberg, is producing. No pressure, boys. From Iowa to the Dream Factory For a couple of lifelong friends from Iowa, Beck and Woods have turned making audiences sweat into a highly lucrative art form. Their trajectory has been nothing short of a genre fan’s dream: In 2018, they exploded onto the mainstream scene with their original spec script for A Quiet Place, teaching the world to fear stepping on creaky floorboards. Frank Grillo and Tyrese Gibson Battle Corporate Nanobots in ‘Kill Code’

The new cyberpunk thriller Kill Code is heading your way. In a grim future, the human body is treated like cheap hardware, controlled by the rich and powerful. Fortunately, some people still prefer their free will. Set in a rainy, neon-drenched dystopian America ravaged by a Second Civil War, crime has become a deadly pandemic. Enter Alpire Industries CEO and scientist Eion Prescott (Harvey Keitel), who claims to have the ultimate cure. His solution is the ONYX Program, an aggressively dystopian initiative where AI-powered watches are strapped to known criminals. Instead of tracking steps, these watches inject criminals with nanobots carrying a deadly computer virus: the titular kill code. The virus forces these tech-jacked criminals to battle each other to the death, with the bruised survivors supposedly earning redemption and their lives back. Of course, the corporation won’t be satisfied until they’ve eliminated human free will. The only thing standing in their way is a cyber-enhanced Alpire operative, played by

Spoiler-Free Review: Turn It Up! (Tribeca Festival 2026)

Official Synopsis An indie rock band struggling to make its mark finds a possible meal ticket in an infectious new guitar riff. Unfortunately, it’s also a cursed melody that just so happens to open a portal to another, much scarier dimension. Review Writer/director Sam Scott mashes up horror elements, weird science, and razor-sharp comedy in the Canadian feature Turn It Up!. The result is a fun, frenetic film that boasts some cool rock numbers to accompany its frenzied goings-on. Alternative rock group members AC (Justine Nelson), Berg (Jonathan Craig), Court (Gwenlyn Cumyn), and Russ (Xavier Lopez) are doing the unsigned band grind when a song that may or may not be called “The Odyssey” — depending on which member you talk to — catches the attention of famous manager Miss Vee (Liv Collins). She promises them their way to a big break, but this being a genre film, naturally she has ulterior motives. Scott delivers a nice twist on the
