Movie Review: Rise of the Super Tromettes (2025) – Troma Blu-ray

After being expelled from Tromaville High School, our highly tatted, skimpily dressed heroines D.d. (Elizabeth D’Ambrosio) and Mercy (Mercedes The Muse, who also wrote and directed the picture… as she did on Troma’s Divide & Conquer as well as many more) try their level-headed best to secure jobs in the real world… but after a series of disastrous work place experiences (at least one of which features that ol’ family fav; un-simulated on-screen pissing) our protagonists discover that a virus is turning horny men’s dicks into monsters (also dicks)… dicks with faces that expel green jizz. As anyone would, they arm themselves with dildo-based weaponry and queef balloons and take to the streets to do battle with those phreaky phalluses as The Super Tromettes! Before long they discover that the virus is man-made and after recruiting new members into their ranks… including the ADHD-riddled roller-skatin’ Hypergirl (split-tongued dynamo Knotty Peach, also from Divide & Conquer) and disabled tech-genius Tekno (Jade

Manufactured Reality: AI Thriller ‘Appofeniacs’ Scores a New Mind-Bending Trailer

As artificial intelligence continues to blur the boundaries of truth, upcoming thriller Appofeniacs aims to tap into the ultimate modern paranoia. The film trades classic monsters for digital fabrication. It explores what happens when weaponized deepfakes bleed into the physical world with deadly force. A Party Trick Turned Nightmare The story follows Duke, played by Aaron Holliday, a reckless digital creator who treats identity manipulation like an amusing stunt. Exploiting the human tendency to believe whatever appears on a screen, Duke launches a chain reaction of deceit. And it rapidly spirals out of control across a web of interconnected lives. What starts as digital mischief soon intersects with Poppy (Simran Jehani), who ventures into the desert for a weekend of cosplay and hedonism, alongside the legendary Clinto Binto (Sean Gunn) and an unfortunate outsider named Lazzy (Paige Searcy), who gets swept into the fallout. The Terror of Confirmation Bias Rather than blaming rogue algorithms or sentient code, Appofeniacs aims to

Spoiler-Free Reviews: Unholy Night and The Galactic Ghoul (Fantasia 2026)

Unholy Night (Canada, 2026) Official Synopsis Gino’s traditional family Christmas Eve turns into a bloody battle for survival when his long-dead grandma drops by and goes on a murderous rampage. Amid the chaos, Gino reunites with his ex and the dysfunctional duo must avoid his dead Italian relatives popping up all around the neighbourhood as they search for a way to get rid of these Yuletide revenants and survive his family Christmas. Review Unholy Night is a horror comedy with heart. Squabbles between the Italian family members on Christmas Eve and the problems that arise when relatives return from the dead drive the comedy elements winningly. Director Michael Gabriele balances the humor and the horror nicely, along with relationship and family drama. The ensemble cast members all give solid performances, and the makeup for the revenants is satisfyingly creepy. These living dead can speak, cook, and move around well, and can sometimes be calmed down when they become aggressive enough

Spoiler-Free Reviews: Ancestral Beasts and Home Bodies (Fantasia 2026)

Ancestral Beasts (Canada, 2026) Official Synopsis After cutting ties with her toxic sister, Elyse (Morgan Holmstrom) retreats to her rural ancestral home to rebuild her mental health. But a grotesque, centipede-like creature begins to stalk her, a physical manifestation of buried trauma. As it feeds on her emotional turmoil, Elyse must confront the past she tried to escape to save herself and those she loves. Review Morgan Holmstrom is excellent in Ancestral Beasts as Elyse, a Red River Métis woman who goes back to the family home where her mother committed suicide in an attempt to get away from her verbally abusive older sister Nikki (Darla Contois). Writer/director Tim Riedel takes Elyse on a riveting, harrowing journey in which a diabolical creature is a metaphor for mental illness, and Holmstrom nails her character in a role that certainly wouldn’t be easy to play. She portrays the different emotions through which her character goes winningly, and is reason enough to recommend

Checking out Gunnar’s MILITECH Gaming Glasses inspired by ‘Cyberpunk 2077’

Our friends at Gunnar are back with their latest collaboration with Cyberpunk 2077. This time, we’re stepping out of Night City’s underworld with glasses inspired by the game’s nefarious weapons-manufacturing megacorporation, MILITECH. For those not familiar with our friends at Gunnar, they specialize in making glasses that have anti-blue light tech. Screens give off blue light that’s invisible to the eyes but can cause strain and fatigue for them. Gunnar’s glasses help block this light to allow those who look at screens all day to work in comfort. Gunnar’s glasses are used by pro e-sport players, gamers, the military, and even animators at DreamWorks. The Cyberpunk 2077 Militech glasses take on the look of range glasses, befitting a corporate merc. The polymer frame wraps around the face to offer a wide view with flexible hinges to ensure comfort for long periods of wear. The lenses will protect your eyes from harmful blue-light coming from your screen (not bullets). You can

Movie Review: The Screaming (2000) – Visual Vengeance Blu-ray

There is something seriously wrong with the followers of New Age religion Crystalnetics. For starters, the robed practitioners of said “religion” like nothing more than to chase chicks around their centrally located pyramid headquarters and then getting unreasonably stabby… there’s also a monster involved, but we’ll get to that later… Enter: room-renting, chain smoking, Gen X anthropology student Bob Martin (Vinnie Bilancio), a gruff scholar with a deep interest in ancient supernatural rites and the ass of his landlady, Crystal (Wendi Winburn). Coming from Writer/Director Jeff Leroy (Rat Scratch Fever), The Screaming is an incredibly entertaining satire of L. Ron Hubbard’s Dianetics/Scientology biz. We get the genre author turned New Age Prophet, the
