Rocker Tommy Spase Tells Us About His New Album And More In An Interview

Recently, I was scrolling down my Facebook feed and came across a music video that caught my attention. The video had a real Tim Burton feel and a unique sound. I decided I had to track down the musician, Tommy Spase, hear more of his music and find out more about him. I reached out to Tommy and he sat down with me for an interview. Horror Fuel: “How long have you been with the band?” Tommy Spase: “The first incarnation of the band was about seven years ago. We played around LA for a while until a couple of members left and we got a couple more. That was over the course of like six years. I had been working on a children’s show but decided to get back into the music side of it. That’s how that video came across your news feed. I’ve been working on a whole launch process for this.” Horror Fuel: “How was the

Album Review: Skeletal Crew: Frankenstyle E.P. (2018)

To be perfectly honest with you creeps; a lot of what I review here I request personally, and when things are sent to me sight, or in this case “sound”, unseen (unheard…whatever) I get a bit on the nervous side…as I always think things have the overwhelming possibility of being a standard substandard piece of mummified dog shit. I have to admit I had that feeling about this E.P. release from Skeletal Crew…not that I’d heard bad things…hell I hadn’t heard anything…which of course made me even more trepidatious…but enough of that horseshit, because I pressed play on ol’ Frankenstyle, and I was well and truly blown the fuck away!! Spread out over six outrageously hard rockin’ tracks that deftly blend fantastic metal stylings with subject matter you’d normally find in the best of horror punk; this is one hell of a slab of arcane audio. The vocals are a guttural growl, but are never hard to understand or sing

Ghost To Honor Fallen Fan With Halloween Concert

On May 31st at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, a concert being performed by the Swedish metal band Ghost abruptly stopped after a fan collapsed in the audience, ending the show in order to allow medical aid to be administered to the fallen fan. Sadly, concertgoer Jeff Fortune passed away. A GoFundMe was set up to help raise money for Fortune’s family but an unlikely helping hand emerged from the aether, Cardinal Copia (Tobias Forge) himself. Ghost wanted to not only give back to their fans from the sold-out night that did not get a chance to see the show end but to finish the show for Fortune. To have a show finished by your favorite band in your name is not only awesome but an honor and in typical Ghost fashion, the show at Riverside Theater will be held Halloween night. Fans who were present at the May 31st show have till September 30th to RSVP this special event.

New ‘Halloween’ Teaser Gives Fans A Taste Of The Soundtrack

Last week, a fake song from Halloween spread like fire online. Today, we have the first real taste of the soundtrack. Not only is John Carpenter, creator of the franchise, executive producing Blumhouse’s new Halloween, he also composed the soundtrack, along with his son Cody, and Daniel Davies (Lost Themes). Sacred Bones Records has now released a short teaser of the main theme, giving fans a taste of what’s to come. Sacred Bones Records describes the new soundtrack: “The new soundtrack pays homage to the classic Halloween score that Carpenter composed and recorded in 1978 when he forever changed the course of horror cinema and synthesizer music with his low-budget masterpiece. Several new versions of the iconic main theme serve as the pulse of Green’s film, its familiar 5/4 refrain stabbing through the soundtrack like the Shape’s knife. The rest of the soundtrack is just as enthralling, incorporating everything from atmospheric synth whooshes to eerie piano-driven pieces to skittering electronic

ScreamWorks Records once again teams up with The Drift composer James Griffiths to present his latest finely tuned chiller score on the Screamworks label. Directed by Richard Rowntree based on his 2015 short film, Dogged is a “horror that deals with the sins of the past and their effects on the present. When Sam returns home to the tidal island where he grew up to attend a funeral of a young girl, he soon realizes that the community he had once left has changed considerably. He soon uncovers disturbing secrets about his former home and the seedy underbelly of the small community harbors more than just a few secrets.” My score for Dogged is very much a homage to the sinister detail that the movie itself presents” reveals composer James Griffiths about his contributions to the film. “The Folk
