Analog Horror is on the rise, and along with it are games in the genre but unfortunately not many of them are available for all gamers as they tend to be more geared for PC players. That has changed with the horror analog game Home Safety Hotline now coming to console this month thanks to Night Signal Entertainment, Torture Star Video, and Puppet Combo! Home Safety Hotline puts players in 1996 in the role of a new hire at Home Safety Hotline, a service where people call in with problems they’re experiencing in their homes, and players will have to determine what that issue is to help them. The calls started normal but quickly became more…paranormal. Now, onto the game itself! Controls for Home Safety Hotline, they’re relatively easy to learn and you have options to keep the prompts on the screen as you play (which is a big help). If you’re familiar with how computers looked like in 1996,

SOEDESCO has announced that the release of their upcoming first-person horror adventure game, Dollhouse: Behind The Broken Mirror, has been delayed till 2025, initially set to launch later this year. While no further information was given for the delay, chances are the developers more than likely wanted to make sure the game was polished before putting it out there for gamers as the call for “Finished” games is ever-growing, especially after the disastrous release of some AAA games, and even some indie developers had to shut their doors for good for making this mistake. Enter the broken mind of Eliza de Moor, a once-celebrated singer, now trapped in the labyrinth of her own forgotten memories. The only hope for recovering her memories lies with Doctor Stern and his experimental medicine. As Eliza, you’ll navigate the reality and the world behind the broken mirror, guided by the effects of the drug. Dollhouse: Behind The Broken Mirror will be coming out on

Learning about other cultures through their ghost stories has always been something I enjoy doing on cold quiet nights, and the experience of these tales through interactive entertainment is always a treat. Cellar Vault Games and Chorus Worldwide have now brought the fusion of the myths and ghost stories of Malaysia with a mix of Chinese culture all in one package with Paper Ghost Stories: Third Eye Open. Paper Ghost Stories: Third Eye Open follows a young girl named Ting, who has an “imaginary” friend named Xiu, well, Ting’s parents think she’s not real but in reality, Xiu is a ghost as Ting has the gift of a third sight. Ting must navigate her daily life at school and around home with this gift as her family is falling apart, and Ting is trying to fit in and make friends while having to deal with spirits either coming to her for help…or to cause trouble. Now, onto the game itself.

Ubisoft’s upcoming historical fiction game Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is drawing a lot of attention with one of the main protagonists in the game being the legendary Yasuke, an African Samurai. This has caused an uproar online as a line has been drawn in the sand by armchair historians and gaming gatekeepers who are either for or against the character’s existence and cherry-pick facts from a tree that barely had any fruit on it to begin with. So, who was Yasuke? After around a month of researching, this is what I was able to come up with. Let’s first deal with the elephant in the room on this, Yasuke did exist as there are records both European and Japanese that talk about him, though his real name is unknown, but how he got the name “Yasuke” is coming up. Since he arrived in Japan in 1579 with Jesuit missionaries, along with Portuguese traders, he more than likely came from Mozambique before

When it comes to modern aesthetics in people’s homes, two things are becoming more and more common, books and plants. Not that it’s a bad thing, books are awesome and I wish more and more that I had time to just sit and read, and plants help bring life into a room and give you something to tend to. The folks over at Biblio Bloom decided to combine the two uniquely with their book vases! I want to thank Biblio Bloom for sending over the Dracula Book Vase for me to check out! The vase is made of clear acrylic and is part of the Gothic Fiction section of the store if Romance and Fantasy books are not your style. The clear acrylic makes it unique to show off flowers/pants both real or imitation, allowing unique ways to display this vase, since Halloween stuff is now in stores, I took advantage of this and grabbed some faux flowers and Halloween
