Checking out the new Oakland and Intercept Frames by GUNNAR

Summer may be slowly coming to an end, but summer styles are forever! Our friends at GUNNAR have introduced two new frames that are a love letter to the season! For those not familiar with our friends at Gunnar, they specialize in making glasses that have anti-blue light tech. Screens give off blue light that’s invisible to the eyes but can cause strain and fatigue for them. Gunnar’s glasses help block this light to allow those who look at screens all day to work in comfort. Gunnar’s glasses are used by pro e-sport players, gamers, the military, and even animators at DreamWorks. We’ve seen the Oakland Frames before, but now we’re seeing them in a more vibrant color, Crystal Dusk. These stylish frames now come with the option to look reminiscent of a violet sky after the sun sets at the beach. The Intercept frames have been around for a while as well, and have been given the summer glow-up

DLC Review: ‘REANIMAL: The Prisoner’

THQ Nordic surprised fans of the critically acclaimed REANIMAL with the release of the first DLC, titled The Prisoner, which expands the mystery of the main story. In REANIMAL: The Prisoner, players are introduced to two new characters: The Prisoner, a child with a sack over their head and a chain around their neck, and The Soldier, a child dressed like a German soldier from WWI, who appears to have helped the Prisoner escape their confinement. If you played and loved REANIMAL, you’ll love this mysterious tale that takes our little heroes through a nightmarish landscape of urban warfare, with added mechanics not in the base game, such as corpse traveling (yes, traveling through dead bodies), along with riding a motorcycle (which was my favorite part!) What I loved most about this story is that it hits you hard at the end with a massive cliffhanger after giving you a small bit more of what happened during the events of

Game Review: ‘Yellowcreek Stories-The Cabin Watcher’

As a writer, you spend a lot of time in isolation, or attempt it, to write with the silent prayers to whatever divine being that’s out there listening, that you’ll be left the f-ck alone. Well, in Carlos Azuaga’s and Jandusoft’s Yellowcreek Stories-The Cabin Watcher, that’s not gonna happen! Yellowcreek Stories: The Cabin Watcher follows a writer named Terry, who is staying at a remote cabin in the forest to work on his latest novel. Unfortunately, his calming night is interrupted by an escapee with a bloodlust that knows no end. Now, onto the game itself. The controls for Yellowcreek Stories: The Cabin Watcher are minimal, which I’ll go into more towards the end. The game’s art is interesting, but I fear it may be AI assets; I can’t confirm as the game’s ending credits were sparse, leading to this concern. The game’s soundtrack fits the story as it screams 80s synth. Normally I don’t like games that lack voice-overs,

Gunnar’s glasses help block this light to allow those who look at screens all day to work in comfort. Checking out Gunnar’s MILITECH Gaming Glasses inspired by ‘Cyberpunk 2077’

Our friends at Gunnar are back with their latest collaboration with Cyberpunk 2077. This time, we’re stepping out of Night City’s underworld with glasses inspired by the game’s nefarious weapons-manufacturing megacorporation, MILITECH. The Cyberpunk 2077 Militech glasses take on the look of range glasses, befitting a corporate merc. The polymer frame wraps around the face to offer a wide view with flexible hinges to ensure comfort for long periods of wear. The lenses will protect your eyes from harmful blue-light coming from your screen (not bullets). You can

Game Review: ‘The Green Light’

You hate your job and just want to quit without consequences? That’s pretty much what The Green Light is all about. Touted as a psychological horror, you take on the role of Fred, a man who wants to be an artist but is stuck working a dead-end office job. The green light of a lighthouse calls to him to just walk away from his job and answer its call, along with the voice of a mysterious man on a radio. I should say right off the bat, The Green Light is a short game, less than half an hour long depending on how you play. It’s impressive that it was all done by one dev, waleedzo, but I feel that Take It! Studio let him down with the port to console. Right away, there are issues with the game’s volume; it’s way too damn loud! The only option to adjust the volume is the Master Volume, which makes Fred’s dialogue

Game Review: ‘The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu’

In the past, I have played plenty of games by NACON and had nothing bad to say about them; unfortunately, there’s that old saying, “There’s a first time for everything”, and this is one of them. I still wish to thank NACON and ACE Team for the reviewing opportunity, and I hope my criticism will help improve this game moving forward. The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is a Lovecraftian first-person survival horror PVE where players take on the role of Spanish explorers who are seeking the mythical “Mound” on an undiscovered island that even the Spanish crown knows nothing about, allowing you to claim the treasure found on this island for yourselves…if you survive. Now, onto the game itself! When it comes to the controls for the game, you can learn them quickly, but at the same time I feel there could still be some more features, like jumping, as the game’s environment appears to have plenty of choices of

You get what you paid for… Game Review of ‘Bellwright’

Donkey Crew, in partnership with Snail Games USA, today launched the console port of their medieval survival RPG, Bellwright. I’m grateful for the reviewing opportunity, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. This is surprising as the game seemed to be well-liked on STEAM, and if there’s a group of gamers who like to complain more about the slightest thing, it’s PC gamers. In Bellwright, players can make their own character and set out to start their own village/community in their realm, that’s now become quite hostile. That’s pretty much what I can figure out, as one of the first issues I have with this game comes up. You’re just dropped into the game, no introduction, no exposition, just start the game and figure out the controls right off the bat, as there’s no tutorial (even though I selected in the options to have it). Once I figured out how to play, I started my mission…and got stuck, as in soft locked.
