31 Days Of Anime Horror Part 8: ‘Blood-C’

It’s October and that means it’s time to get into the spirit of the season, and obviously nothing gets you into the Halloween mood better than horror. Unfortunately when it comes to most live-action horror films, there’s only so much that can be done and shown, but thankfully of all things, Anime can cross the line with story, gore, and intriguing storytelling. So for every day this month, I’ll be featuring a unique Anime that fits the horror genre that you can most likely find on any streaming service. Let’s paint the town red with Blood-C! Blood-C (2011) is the third installment of the “Blood” franchise, the story follows Saya, by day she’s a typical high school girl who is sweet, kind, and a bit clumsy but by night she hunts and kills monsters. Things soon go wrong when the monsters she fights at night start appearing in the day and the town Saya lives in is not what it

Game Review: ‘Vampire’s Fall: Origins’

I don’t know about you but where I live there’s a chill in the air with a hint of autumn in it, and Early Morning Studio was awesome enough to offer me a chance to make the season feel more like Halloween with their gothic RPG Vampire’s Fall: Origins. In Vampire’s Fall: Origins play as a customized character that you can name, who becomes a vampire after failing to fight the dreaded Witchmaster who has raised an army and terrorizing the land. Now on a quest of vengeance, your character must get stronger as they travel the land with the goal to bring down the Witchmaster and avenging the carnage done to your village. Now onto the game itself! Controls are pretty simple with no need to memorize them as they are always labeled on the screen when you’re exploring and engaging in combat. When it comes to graphics, it’s reminiscent of a flash game but it renders well on

Movie Review: The Good Things Devils Do (2020)

Richard (genre vet Bill Oberst Jr.) is a thief out for one last kick. Along for the final heist is his daughter and partner-in-crime Mouse (Mary Katherine O’Donnell) and Percy (Kane Hodder; THE Jason Voorhees mother fucker!), a true psychopath of an individual who truly annoys the ever-lovin’ piss out of Rich. Meanwhile, Melvin (David Rucker III) and his stepdaughter Caroline (Kelley Wilson Robinson) are hangin’ around their museum of outre oddities, just taking care of their newest acquisition; the supposed remains of a vicious vamp known as Masquerade (Veronika Stoykova). Of course those remains are legit A.F., and soon Masquerade is up and about, and you know damn well she’s crosses paths with that criminal crew mentioned up yonder… on Halloween night no less! Writer/director Jess Norvisgaard wastes no time with The Good Things Devils Do; and delivers plenty of murder n’ mayhem from nearly beginning to end, with plenty of the red sauce splashed about when called for!

Just when it looks like all Hawk’s options in life have expired, filthy blood-sucking vampires appear and of course, no one freakin’ believes him! Before Dracula There Was ‘Carmilla’ – In Virtual Theaters This July

25 years before the story of Dracula came to life, there was an enchanting young woman with a taste for blood… Writer/director Emily Harris brings to life the adaptation of Le Fanu‘s gothic vampire tale Carmilla, starring Hannah Rae. Isolated from the outside world, fifteen-year-old Lara (Hannah Rae, “Broadchurch”, Fighting with My Family) lives in seclusion on a vast country estate with her father and strict governess Miss Fontaine (Jessica Raine, “Patrick Melrose”, “Jericho”). Late one evening, a mysterious carriage crash brings a young girl (Devrim Lingnau) into their home to recuperate. Lara immediately becomes enchanted by this strange visitor who arouses her curiosity and awakens her burgeoning desires. This atmospheric coming-of-age tale, co-stars Golden Globe®-nominee Tobias Menzies (“Outlander”, “The Terror”, “Game of Thrones”, “The Crown” ) is inspired by the 1872 Gothic novella by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu, who crafted the story of Carmilla, 25 years before Bram Stoker put the supernatural story of Count Dracula on the page.
