Tubi Review: Twisted Fiction (2020)

Every once in a while, yours cruelly squeezes in a request or two, and this revotin’ review stated out as just that as I was contacted by one of the producers of the new Tubi show, Twisted Fiction and asked to slap my eerie eyeballs on it for the sake of gettin’ my two cent take on things! So what is Twisted Fiction? Well, think of it as a bit of E.C. comics by way of the grit and pulp sensibilities of a true crime rag, and if that doesn’t grab ya by the short n’ curlies I don’t know what will! Over the course of the two available episodes, The Troll and Sole Motel by name, we are treated to murder, monsters, and more (it’s like Bed, Bath, and Beyond, just with 100% additional… well… death n’ stuff… ). In The Troll, a true scumbag of a man (played to perfection by Gaetano Iacono) causes all manner of mayhem

Movie Review: The Dustwalker (2019)

Tremors meets Dawn of the Dead meets Alien in writer-director Sandra Sciberras’ sci-fi horror The Dustwalker. In this Aussie film, one by one the residents of a small isolated town become infected, turning into brutal, bloodthirsty zombie-like creatures that are on a mission, spread the infection, or kill everyone they come in contact with, including loved ones. Those who are struggling to survive look to Joanne Sharp (Jolene Anderson), the local chief of police for guidance along with her right-hand man, Luke (Richard Davies). Things go from zero to sixty fast. The blood starts being shed in the first few minutes. Once the chaos begins, there are bodies and blood everywhere. And while the hints that something otherworldly involved pop up bit by bit once the big twist is revealed it’s all-out war. The villain in this tale is a clever combination of imagination, sci-fi, and science. One of the key elements to the infection takes inspiration from nature, the

Robert Rodriguez’s ‘Red 11’ Getting A Summer Release

Last year we reported that filmmaker Robert Rodriguez was returning to his roots and making a movie with the budget of just $7000, the same budget he had for his breakout film El Mariachi. The film, titled Red 11, was inspired by the medical experiments Rodriguez went through himself to raise the money for El Mariachi thirty years ago. The film is set “in the dark, twisted world of legal drug research. College kids turn lab rats to make quick money. The pic’s protagonist Rob (who is assigned the color and number Red 11), is trying to buy his way out of a huge debt to the tune of $7K. But things get surreal when he’s not sure if the hospital is really trying to kill him, or if it’s the side effects from the experimental drugs.” Rodriguez wrote the script with his son Racer, based on the original script Robert wrote in the ’90s. Since Red 11 made its
