Ghost To Honor Fallen Fan With Halloween Concert

On May 31st at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, a concert being performed by the Swedish metal band Ghost abruptly stopped after a fan collapsed in the audience, ending the show in order to allow medical aid to be administered to the fallen fan. Sadly, concertgoer Jeff Fortune passed away. A GoFundMe was set up to help raise money for Fortune’s family but an unlikely helping hand emerged from the aether, Cardinal Copia (Tobias Forge) himself. Ghost wanted to not only give back to their fans from the sold-out night that did not get a chance to see the show end but to finish the show for Fortune. To have a show finished by your favorite band in your name is not only awesome but an honor and in typical Ghost fashion, the show at Riverside Theater will be held Halloween night. Fans who were present at the May 31st show have till September 30th to RSVP this special event.

Novel Version To Be Released Following Halloween’s Arrival In Theaters

Not only is Halloween coming to theaters, the novel version of the film, penned by John Passarella, will be released just days later. “In 1978, Laurie Strode survived an encounter with Michael Myers, a masked figure who killed her friends and terrorized the town of Haddonfield, Illinois on Halloween night. Myers was later gunned down, apprehended and committed to Smith’s Grove State Hospital. For forty years, memories of that nightmarish ordeal have haunted Laurie and now Myers is back once again on Halloween, having escaped a routine transfer, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. This time, Laurie is prepared with years of survival training to protect herself, her daughter Karen and her daughter Allyson, a teenager separated from her family and enjoying Halloween festivities.” Directed by David Gordon Green and written by Danny McBride, the film, which will ignore every sequel, stars Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, Judy Greer as Karen Strode, Laurie’s Daughter. New ‘Halloween’ Teaser Gives Fans A Taste Of The Soundtrack

Last week, a fake song from Halloween spread like fire online. Today, we have the first real taste of the soundtrack. Not only is John Carpenter, creator of the franchise, executive producing Blumhouse’s new Halloween, he also composed the soundtrack, along with his son Cody, and Daniel Davies (Lost Themes). Sacred Bones Records has now released a short teaser of the main theme, giving fans a taste of what’s to come. Sacred Bones Records describes the new soundtrack: “The new soundtrack pays homage to the classic Halloween score that Carpenter composed and recorded in 1978 when he forever changed the course of horror cinema and synthesizer music with his low-budget masterpiece. Several new versions of the iconic main theme serve as the pulse of Green’s film, its familiar 5/4 refrain stabbing through the soundtrack like the Shape’s knife. The rest of the soundtrack is just as enthralling, incorporating everything from atmospheric synth whooshes to eerie piano-driven pieces to skittering electronic

Jamie Lee Curtis Says ‘Halloween’ Is Terrifying!

We are officially halfway to Halloween, but today everyone is talking about the new Halloween movie thanks to the first official poster being released. To top it off, Laurie Strode herself, Jamie Lee Curtis revealed during a conversation with Yahoo that horror fans are “… gonna love this movie.” I’ve seen a trailer and I’ve seen some footage, and it’s terrifying,” Curtis told the site. “They went full-tilt boogeyman. And I’ve never said that in my life, and I will say full-tilt boogeyman for the rest of the year as I go around talking about this.” Curtis also mentioned what she though title of the movie should’ve been. There was the idea of, ‘What do you call it?’ If I had had my druthers, I probably would’ve called it Halloween Retold. Because it’s being retold. It’s the original story in many, many, many ways. Just retold 40 years later with my granddaughter.” In the film, directed by David Gordon Green

John Carpenter Skipped A Few Of Those Terrible “Halloween” Sequels

Out of the 10 films in the Halloween franchise, one’s a master piece, two are good, one (Season of the Witch) is an underrated outlier, and 6 are pretty much crap. There’s a lot of convoluted and pretty terrible mythology, turning Michael Myers, one of horror’s most terrifying human monsters into a muddled mess of Shatner masks and kitchen knives. Full disclosure, I haven’t seen every Halloween film. But hey, neither has John Carpenter! But with the newest entry, Carpenter hopes to bring the 40 year old franchise back to its roots. In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Carpenter admitted he had skipped a few entries of the franchise he founded stating “You know, you know I talked about the Halloweens for a long time, the sequels — I haven’t even seen all of them. I don’t even know what really was there.” Carpenter has only had sporadic involvement in the film world the past few years, last releasing poorly
