New Photo Of Older Laurie Strode Released

https://twitter.com/jamieleecurtis/status/963034547205103619 A new photo of an older Laurie has emerged viva Jame Lee Curtis’s twitter account. The scream queen, who will be starring in a new Halloween film this October, looks fearsome as ever. While previous photos of the aged Laurie have been released, this is our best look yet at this new version of one of horror’s most iconic heroines. Danny McBride will be writing the movie, while John Carpenter produces and possibly scores. This would be the franchise creators first return to the franchise in over 20 years. This reboot will land right around the original Halloween’s 40th anniversary. Onset photos have already surfaced as Halloween enters production, for an October 19th release date. Until then all we can do is wait for more news to break and Michael to return home one last time.

The Pronouns of Fandom

Disclaimer: Sports, film, music, and art will do more to unite a nation than politics. All of these, collectively known as “entertainment” allow people a sense of belonging, identity and sharing. They can represent the best of us as a species. All can inspire, amaze and make us and make us better people. Notice I left out any reference to “ownership.” Grammar Nazis love to focus on the improper use of “You’re” and “Your” and “They’re and There.” I suggest they look into the misuse of certain pronouns. Fans of any medium don’t seem to understand “Us” and “Them” or “We” and “They.” A sports example: The Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl 52. The players, coach, the staff that worked on a daily basis to make the machine run–THEY won the Super Bowl. YOU reading this did not. To see “We did it!” type posts online is another example of a spectator world that confuses viewing with doing. To be

John Carpenter Skipped A Few Of Those Terrible “Halloween” Sequels

Out of the 10 films in the Halloween franchise, one’s a master piece, two are good, one (Season of the Witch) is an underrated outlier, and 6 are pretty much crap. There’s a lot of convoluted and pretty terrible mythology, turning Michael Myers, one of horror’s most terrifying human monsters into a muddled mess of Shatner masks and kitchen knives. Full disclosure, I haven’t seen every Halloween film. But hey, neither has John Carpenter! But with the newest entry, Carpenter hopes to bring the 40 year old franchise back to its roots. In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Carpenter admitted he had skipped a few entries of the franchise he founded stating “You know, you know I talked about the Halloweens for a long time, the sequels — I haven’t even seen all of them. I don’t even know what really was there.” Carpenter has only had sporadic involvement in the film world the past few years, last releasing poorly

Movie Review: 10/31 is an Arcane Anthology Well Worth Your Time!

Anthologies are all the rage in the fright flick biz these days…or they were at one point…it doesn’t really matter because I’m taking a look at one today, and then I’m gonna tell you if it’s hit or shit with my normal award losing candor…so yeah…10/31!! 10/31 begins with some trick or treaters parkin’ their ass in front of the boob tube (and in this case that term is apt because they are watching bosomy horror hostess Malvolia’s horror marathon) where they view the various and sundry terror tales…like the one that leads off this affair; The Old Hag! Hag concerns the trials and tribulations of two dudes aiming to film a promo video for an old mansion that’s been turned into a dead…err bed and breakfast. Well, lo and behold, one of our heroes keeps seeing visions of a gnarly ol’ bat…the same demonic dame that the locals say was a murder machine way back when. Things of course

70 Year Old Nick Castle Returns as Mike Meyers

I am not sure what the majority of people thought about Rob Zombie’s ‘Halloween’ but I really enjoyed it (the sequel was…..ooh well). But I was surprised when rumors and then facts regarding yet another reboot came to fruition; however, I am gaining more and more interest in it based on the information we are getting. It will be based more on suspense and psychological fear than Zombie’s. And now we know that Nick Castle – the original Mike Meyers – will return to his role as a senior citizen. He is in his 70s and will be playing a Meyers who will be in his 60s. Castle has released a video of him walking on a treadmill…let’s just say that he does not walk like a 70 year old. He has quite they strut as he walks (donning his Mike Meyers mask) preparing to stalk his next victims. ‘Halloween’ is directed by David Gordon Green, written by Green and

Movie Review: Talon Falls Falls Short of Being a Slasher Classic

A group of attractive folks head out on the road to a rural locale and are murdered one by one. What am I watching? Wrong Turn? The Hills Have Eyes? Nah, we both know it’s the new fright flick Talon Falls (unless you can’t read…wait, if you can’t read how did you get this far?!!)…an exercise in torture porn tedium! And were off to the races… So, yeah…teens, road, hick town…you get the drift. So what is the unique Mcguffin here? Why how about the fact that once in town the gang of goofs decide to attend the local haunted attraction full of grizzly exhibits that seem a touch too real. Before you can say The Houses October Built (1 and 2), our heroes are systematically bound, gagged, and eliminated by a gang of hulking psychos. Who will survive, and what will be left of them and all that… Well, let’s try and find something nice to say about Talon

New Details Emerge for 2018’s “Halloween” Sequel

“Halloween” 2018 writer Danny McBride (yes, that Danny McBride) has revealed more details about the upcoming sequel. While we already knew John Carpenter would score and Jamie Lee Curtis would return, McBride’s interview with Yahoo has let loose some interesting tidbits. “We’re kind of ignoring all the films past the first one,” McBride confirmed. “It picks up after the first one, but it’s sort of an alternate reality.“ “It’s as if the first Halloween ended in a slightly different way,” McBride added, suggesting the new film may rewrite even the events of the original. ……I can’t be the only one whose REALLY not happy to hear that. Given McBride has no horror writing credits to his name, and barely any credits at all (one of the films he did notably write was the 2011 bomb “Your Highness.”) McBride does dress these concerns….sort of. “I think you should be very scared. I mean, this isn’t a comedy at all.” Said McBride.

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Jamie Lee Curtis

Well, here we are, my Little Monsters, it looks as if we’ve all managed to survive yet another Halloween. In fact it’s something that we all have in common with today’s wonderful Woman of Horror. Back in 1978, today’s lovely and talented lady survived an encounter with the “boogeyman” on Halloween night and lived to see another day. I’m speaking of course of the OG scream queen, Jamie Lee Curtis. One could say that Jamie may have quite literally been born to be an actress, as she is the daughter of actress Janet Leigh and actor Tony Curtis. She may also have been somewhat predestined to hold the title as THE Scream Queen, as her own mother Janet played the ill fated Marion Crane, in what is regarded as the seminal film of the slasher sub genre of horror, Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. So it may literally be in the blood. Jamie is a California girl, having been born in Santa

Every year around Halloween, the same old fears surface. We’ve got to check the kids’ candy for poison, the apples for Razor Blades, and the candy bars for drugs. The YouTube series ‘Origins of Everything’s’ special Halloween episode delves into the story/legend that is the source of our candy fears. What would be Halloween without clowns creeping around striking fear in both kids and adults? ‘Origin of Everything’ has a video about that too where they explore our fears of killer clowns.
