Movie Review: Destination Moon (1950) – Film Masters Blu-ray

With their latest rocket experiment ending in flames n’ failure, Dr. Charles Cargraves (Warner Anderson) and his rocket lovin’ bud, General Thayer (Tom Powers) seek some outside cash to achieve their ultimate goal, sending man to the moon! They soon enlist smooth-talkin’ aeronautics tycoon Jim Barnes (John Archer) to convince his equally loaded peers to invest in the project… and he isn’t afraid to enlist a then-popular animated bird to lend a helping wing (more on this below dear readers!) to that end! Before long the project is complete, but the local populace are having a bitch-fest about the radiation they believe the project will surely release… even though the rocket, the Luna, uses steam propulsion… so our heroes decide to launch the rocket early, because fuck the public, that’s why! With Cargraves, Thayer, et. al. (along with wise-assing substitute radio operator Joe Sweeney (Dick Wesson)) acting as crew, the group soon find themselves in space… but after a hard

Movie Review: Sweet Meats (2025) – Troma Blu-ray

Bobby Sweet (Ricky Glore, who also wrote and directed the picture) spends his days slinging burgers and unclogging toilets at the local fast food eatery, but he has high hopes on becoming a musician and enjoying all of the prestige that comes with it. Bobby’s boss Nick (Andrew Gordon) has other ideas for our hero’s future… namely taking over the operations of the business because he can’t leave it to his disappointing offspring. Bobby wants to warble out his tunes, but he agrees and after Nick buys the farm Bobby finds himself in the middle of a scheme by Nick’s daughter Laddie (Eileen Earnest) to increase business by introducing a new ingredient to the restaurant’s offerings. It doesn’t take a genius to suss out what that ingredient truly is, and before you can say “Motel Hell”, that man-centric mystery meat really takes the fast food biz by sinister storm… and Bobby can spend his time working on his craft as

Movie Review: Blood Bitch Baby (2024) – Bloodsick Productions Blu-ray

Dig this one; the Blood Countess herself Elizabeth Bathory (Jessa Jupiter Flux, Murdercise, Onlyfangs ) has survived the centuries and settled down in suburbia! Meanwhile, Jenny (Angel Nicole Bradford, Backwoods Blood Feud, The House That Eats Flesh) is having a shitty go of things as of late… she’s trapped in an abusive relationship and she’s completely broke. The solution to at least one of those probs comes in the form of a job offer from Bathory her damn self, and the gig really sucks too, as it involves looking after Liz’s insane sister… who lives in a bathtub, eats raw meat, and snarls all of the damn time. The job lasts roughly one second before Bathory works up an arcane boobs n’ blood style bedroom bedazzlement and marks our heroine with a sigil that gives her a taste for human flesh and additionally, at no extra fee, marks her as the vessel for the offspring of the demon king, Asmodeus!

Movie Review: Rise of the Super Tromettes (2025) – Troma Blu-ray

After being expelled from Tromaville High School, our highly tatted, skimpily dressed heroines D.d. (Elizabeth D’Ambrosio) and Mercy (Mercedes The Muse, who also wrote and directed the picture… as she did on Troma’s Divide & Conquer as well as many more) try their level-headed best to secure jobs in the real world… but after a series of disastrous work place experiences (at least one of which features that ol’ family fav; un-simulated on-screen pissing) our protagonists discover that a virus is turning horny men’s dicks into monsters (also dicks)… dicks with faces that expel green jizz. As anyone would, they arm themselves with dildo-based weaponry and queef balloons and take to the streets to do battle with those phreaky phalluses as The Super Tromettes! Before long they discover that the virus is man-made and after recruiting new members into their ranks… including the ADHD-riddled roller-skatin’ Hypergirl (split-tongued dynamo Knotty Peach, also from Divide & Conquer) and disabled tech-genius Tekno (Jade

Movie Review: Sugar Cookies (1973) – Troma Blu-ray

After some intro bullshitting around from Uncle Lloyd himself, the story of Sugar Cookies begins in earnest… High falutin’ porno producer Max Pavell (George Shannon) accidentally kills his starlet, Alta Leigh (Lynn Lowry, Shivers, Cat People) after a lil’ sexy-time gun-play. Well, that just won’t do… so our prize-winning dick of a leading man immediately goes into damage control claiming the whole debacle was a suicide… and he even gets his casting director, Camila Stone (Mary Woronov, Death Race 2000, Rock n’ Roll high School) to cover for his whereabouts on the night of the incident. Speaking of Camila, she is also tasked with finding a new leading lady for Max’s porn ventures and soon she begins introducing eager starlet Julie Kent (Lowry pullin’ double duty) to the lavish lifestyle… the only hitch is, Camila begins to fall in love with Julie… Will that be enough to keep Julie out of Max’s dangerous sex games? Sugar Cookies is as scattershot

Spoiler-Free Reviews: Focus and Nameless (Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival 2026)

Once again, our coverage of Bucheon International Film Festival (BIFAN) reviews is cowritten by Film Festival Editor Joseph Perry and Guest Contributing Writer Chris Weatherspoon. A man of the world, guest reviewer Chris Weatherspoon has lived in South Korea for “quite a bit.” A huge fan of all cinema, Chris also works locally in the entertainment industry, and knows what he is talking about . . . alright!? Focus (South Korea, 2026); review by Chris Weatherspoon Director Sim Gyu-ho’s Focus is a slowly unraveling ghost story about a man who can’t stop looking through a lens even when it’s costing him everything in front of it. The film opens on a campsite, where photographer Kim Eun-ho and his girlfriend Woo-jung are settling in for the night; a walk to borrow salt turns into something stranger, something the film wisely doesn’t explain. After the opening sequence, we learn that Eun-ho is a struggling photographer who has been with the same girlfriend,

Checking out the new Oakland and Intercept Frames by GUNNAR

Summer may be slowly coming to an end, but summer styles are forever! Our friends at GUNNAR have introduced two new frames that are a love letter to the season! For those not familiar with our friends at Gunnar, they specialize in making glasses that have anti-blue light tech. Screens give off blue light that’s invisible to the eyes but can cause strain and fatigue for them. Gunnar’s glasses help block this light to allow those who look at screens all day to work in comfort. Gunnar’s glasses are used by pro e-sport players, gamers, the military, and even animators at DreamWorks. We’ve seen the Oakland Frames before, but now we’re seeing them in a more vibrant color, Crystal Dusk. These stylish frames now come with the option to look reminiscent of a violet sky after the sun sets at the beach. The Intercept frames have been around for a while as well, and have been given the summer glow-up

Spoiler Free Movie Review: ‘Hellcat’ is A Relentless, Claustrophobic Thrill Ride

Directed by Brock Bodell in his feature directorial debut, Hellcat plunges viewers into a relentless, high-concept race against time. The narrative anchors itself on Lena, a woman who wakes up battered, bleeding, and trapped inside a moving camper trailer with a brutal injury. Her initial confusion turns into sheer panic when the driver delivers a chilling ultimatum: they have precisely sixty minutes to reach medical intervention before she succumbs to a fate far worse than death. As the physical agony mounts and the endless highway stretches out, Lena’s perception shatters, blurring the boundary between physical danger and psychological unraveling. Sharp Visual Instincts and Heavy-Hitting Performances Bodell—working from a script he co-wrote alongside Dakota Gorman and Todd Terry—brings a sharp visual instinct to the screen, leveraging his editing background to build a tight, sensory nightmare. Gorman and Terry pull double duty by starring in lead roles alongside a strong supporting ensemble that includes James Austin Johnson, Liz Atwater, Jordan Mullins, Elise

Movie Review: ‘Above and Below’ Is a Thriller with Bite

Don’t feel like reading? Watch the review below. The year 2026 has been utterly swamped with shark thrillers. As anyone who recently sat through the bargain-bin disaster that was Chum can tell you, quantity definitely doesn’t mean quality. Fortunately, Above and Below arrives like a rogue wave to wash away the bad taste of lesser creature features. It delivers a relentless, high-octane survival thriller that actually remembers how to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. Above and Below is helmed by veteran action director Jesse V. Johnson (Savage Dog). Tony Giordano penned the script for the film, which wastes zero time. It quickly plunges its cast and the audience into a multi-front nightmare. Warning: Spoilers Cocaine, Cages, and Apex Predators The premise serves up a classic recipe for vacation chaos. Five friends head off for a bucket-list shark dive. However, their excursion derails when they spot a massive stash of cartel cocaine. Before they can even wrap their

DLC Review: ‘REANIMAL: The Prisoner’

THQ Nordic surprised fans of the critically acclaimed REANIMAL with the release of the first DLC, titled The Prisoner, which expands the mystery of the main story. In REANIMAL: The Prisoner, players are introduced to two new characters: The Prisoner, a child with a sack over their head and a chain around their neck, and The Soldier, a child dressed like a German soldier from WWI, who appears to have helped the Prisoner escape their confinement. If you played and loved REANIMAL, you’ll love this mysterious tale that takes our little heroes through a nightmarish landscape of urban warfare, with added mechanics not in the base game, such as corpse traveling (yes, traveling through dead bodies), along with riding a motorcycle (which was my favorite part!) What I loved most about this story is that it hits you hard at the end with a massive cliffhanger after giving you a small bit more of what happened during the events of
