Spoiler Free Movie Review: Buckle Up for a Wild Ride, ‘Passenger’ is Out Now

Whenever a horror film arrives floating on a massive wave of hype, I tend to approach it cautiously. But last night, I dimmed the lights, grabbed a bag of popcorn, and pressed play on Paramount Pictures’ Passenger. What followed was a heart-pounding, highway-bound nightmare that far exceeded my high expectations. Directed by visionary filmmaker André Øvredal, this supernatural thriller delivers relentless cinematic dread that hits as fast and hard as an oncoming semi-truck. Van-Life Turns Demonic The adrenaline-fueled plot follows a young couple embarking on what should be the ultimate picturesque van-life adventure. However, their dream getaway spirals into madness after they witness a gruesome, fatal car crash on a desolate stretch of road. But before they can process the tragedy, a relentless demonic stalker locks onto their trail. This punges them into a desperate battle against an unholy entity that cannot be outrun. The film sets its nerve-shredding stage with a terrifying statistic: out of the roughly 130 million

Spoiler-Free Reviews: Armageddon Road and Life at Sandy’s (Popcorn Frights)

Armageddon Road (Canada, 2026) Official Synopsis What happens in Vegas . . . might end the world. An ex-con with big dreams, Steve is hired to chauffeur a mob boss’ girlfriend for a night. He’s unaware that his passenger is dead and possessed by one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Review What an absolute blast writer/director Karen Lam’s 1970s-set Armageddon Road is! Steve McNaulty (Brian McCaig) is a down-on-his-luck Las Vegas dreamer who hopes to find the funding to turn a parking lot into a themed attraction building. Doing what he can just to try to make ends meet, he is given the job of chauffeuring mob boss’s moll Delilah (Natalie Grace) for the evening, but when — unbeknownst to him — she dies in a bathroom and a supernatural entity takes over her body, the night’s going to get progressively stranger. I don’t want to give away any more than that, because Armageddon Road is loaded with

Game Review: ‘Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy’

Well… They did it again. Asobo and Focus Entertainment told another tragically beautiful story set within the universe of A Plague Tale. After the end of Requiem, like many, I was haunted by it. So when it was announced that there was a third instalment, I was beyond excited, as I was beyond excited when Asobo and Focus sent over a copy to review! This is Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Resonance is a prequel set fifteen years before the events of the first two games in the series and follows Sophia, a smuggler who was introduced in Requiem, where she is retelling her haunting past. Plagued by visions since she was a child of a Greek Island, and nightmarish visions of a large bull, Sophia is now forced to travel to the mysterious island while being pursued by the Venetian Army. Sophia, through her visions, soon discovers that there is something terribly wrong with the island. Now, onto the

Movie Review/Rant: ‘Penny Lane Is Dead’ Is a Meanspirited Movie That Crosses the Line

Don’t feel like reading? Watch the review below. Classic genre cinema has taught us that a sweltering Australian summer night is the ultimate backdrop for absolute carnage. And writer-director Mia-Kate Russell leans hard into that bloody tradition with Penny Lane Is Dead. Set in 1986, the film follows the titular Penny Lane. She gathers with her best friends, Toni and Amy, to celebrate her college acceptance. What starts as a standard evening of teenage rebellion hits a violent wall when Penny’s deeply troubled cousin, Kat, decides to stage a cruel prank. A spiked cupcake and a night of partying spiral rapidly out of control, triggering a chaotic, blood-soaked night of betrayal, rage, and raw survival. The characters are brought to life by a commitment to retro atmosphere and an ensemble cast led by Sophia Wright-Mendelsohn, Tahlee Fereday, Alexandra Jensen, Bailey Spalding, Ben O’Toole, Steve Le Marquand, and Fletcher Humphrys. The Fine Line Between Dark Horror and Mean-Spirited Cruelty While the

Checking out GUNNAR’s latest collaboration with ‘Zenless Zone Zero’!

Gunnar Optics has teamed up with HoYoverse to release a new pair of gaming glasses inspired by their popular free-to-play action RPG, Zenless Zone Zero. These new glasses are inspired by the character Soldier 11 and will be the debut product from this new partnership! For those not familiar with our friends at Gunnar, they specialize in making glasses that have anti-blue light tech. Screens give off blue light that’s invisible to the eyes but can cause strain and fatigue for them. Gunnar’s glasses help block this light to allow those who look at screens all day to work in comfort. Gunnar’s glasses are used by pro e-sport players, gamers, the military, and even animators at DreamWorks. The Zenless Zone Zero Soldier 11 gaming glasses are a high-wrap shield frame design inspired by Soldier 11’s combat optics. Movie Review: ‘Bury the Devil’s’ One-Shot Concept Makes It Worthy of Watching

Nothing stays buried forever. Brainstorm Media has just unleashed Bury the Devil, a single-shot demonic nightmare. A Real-Time Descent Into Darkness The plot centers on an in-home nurse caring for an elderly dementia patient. The patient’s erratic behavior quickly spirals from unsettling to otherworldly. What begins as the tragic decline of an aging mind reveals a far darker truth. A sinister force is seeping through the cracks of the decaying home. Shot in a single continuous take. The real-time format traps viewers inside a dark, labyrinthine house alongside pale figures and shifting shadows. By stripping away jump cuts and safety edits, the camera forces you to endure every agonizing second in real time. Atmosphere Over Acting Directed by Adam O’Brien (OM) from a script co-written with John Petrizzi and Brad Hodson, the film uses its single-take gimmick to great effect. The cinematography is genuinely impressive, using fluid camerawork and decaying set design to build a heavy, suffocating sense of dread.

Spoiler-Free Review: Pure Scum (2025)

Official synopsis After a drug-fueled car crash, two entitled private-school graduates flee into Melbourne’s nightlife, where a night of excess spirals out of control and exposes the cost of their privilege. Review Often genre films that deliberately feature despicable, unlikable main characters with no one for whom to truly root offer little to no reason for viewers to get invested. Thankfully, writer/director Gideon Aroni’s Australian thriller Pure Scum bucks that trend marvelously as its pair of drug-fueled young men make one idiotic decision after another, making for a mesmerizing ride. Ayden (Will Hutchins) and Jesse (Nikita Chronis) are friends who met in private school, from which they have recently graduated. Both come from well-off families/ Jesse has a reputation as a drug user and bad boy, and Ayden falls into Jesse’s group after a seemingly more innocent upbringing. Pure Scum involves news magazine-type interviews with family and friends of the two young men taking place after the fateful night where
