The two previously teamed up for the film Two Witches. Trigaridis walked us through details of the film, its demons, special effects, and more. Danna Davies and Alexandra Heller-Nicholas Discuss Their Documentary 1000 Women in Horror in Our Interview

When it comes to documenting the history of horror, most people point at a picture of John Carpenter and call it a day. But Donna Davies and Alexandra Heller-Nicholas are here to remind you that while the men mostly get the spotlight, women have been busy building the genre you love. Together, Davies and Nicholas are the powerhouse duo behind the 1000 Women in Horror documentary, and their partnership is essentially the “prestige horror” version of a supergroup, out to shine a light on the women behind the screams. I had the pleasure of sitting down with the two amazing creators for an interview about 1000 Women in Horror. Their shared passion for giving women in the genre the recognition they deserve is something I can truly respect. I also happened to give the doc a glowing review. The Director: Donna Davies (The Visionary) If you’ve ever gone down a late-night rabbit hole watching horror documentaries, you’ve likely seen Davies’

VFX Master Marc Smith Talks ‘They Will Kill You’ In Our Interview

Let’s be honest, without special effects, movies would suck. That’s why people like Marc Smith of Craft Apes are so important. Recently, Smith served as the VFX Supervisor on the film They Will Kill You, a balls-to-the-wall must-see! I had the pleasure of discussing both his role on set and how some of the amazing scenes were created, giving us a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the action. You may be wondering what They Will Kill You is all about. Let me fill you in: Zazie Beetz stars as a woman desperate enough for work that she answers a cryptic help-wanted ad for a live-in housekeeper. The location? A gorgeous, ultra-exclusive NYC high-rise. The catch? The residents have a nasty habit of disappearing, and the “co-op board” is actually a demonic cult. When the building goes into lockdown, Zazie has to trade her mop for a machete to fight her way through a “death-trap of a lair before she becomes the evening’s

Interview: The Mortuary Assistant – Director Jeremiah Kipp

.Jeremiah Kipp, you may know him as the director of films like Slapface, Black Wake, or The Avant-Gardner. He’s also behind the soon-to-be-released adaptation of the game “The Mortuary Assistant.” And take it for me, the buzz is real. Interview Frankie, Maniac Woman: Director Pierre Tsigaridis and Star Dian Silva

When I sat down to watch the new slasher Frankie, Maniac Woman, a few things became immediately clear. First, director Pierre Tsigaridis—the mad scientist behind the nightmare-inducing Traumatika—is officially allergic to making boring movies. Second, I needed to talk to the film’s star, Dina Silva, immediately, because her performance isn’t just a “breakout”—it’s a home invasion. Lucky for me, the stars aligned. I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing this creative power duo (who actually co-wrote the script together) about their brutal, bat-shit crazy contribution to the genre. Revenge is a Dish Best Served… Brutally Set in the neon-soaked, soul-crushing shallow end of the LA music industry, the film introduces us to Frankie Ramirez (Silva). Frankie is an aspiring singer-songwriter who has officially reached her “limit.” After years of being told she doesn’t “fit the image” and fueled by a volatile cocktail of childhood trauma and industry-mandated insecurity, Frankie finally snaps. But she isn’t heading to a recording booth to

Beast of War Director Kiah Roache-Turner Talks Sharks, Gore, and More in Our Interview

One movie you should add to your watch list is the horror/thriller Beast of War. It throws us into the chaos of World War II. The film follows a warship carrying Australian soldiers as they train for their mission. But a sudden, brutal attack by Japanese fighter planes leaves the ship sinking and a handful of survivors stranded on a makeshift raft, floating in a sea of steel, fire, and blood. Their battle with the enemy is just beginning, but a far deadlier one is about to start. Drawn by the smell of blood in the water, an enormous great white shark begins to hunt them, turning their desperate attempt at survival into a terrifying game of cat and mouse. I jumped at the chance to talk with Beast of War‘s writer-director Kiah Roache-Turner, the same director behind the movies Sting and Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, which I saw when they were released. Turner’s enthusiasm for the film is
