Gameplay Gets Medieval In ‘Lorn’

Currently in development by Teamkill Studio comes a survival horror game that will take players deep beneath the ruins of a great kingdom where horrors await in Lorn. The game will be in first-person and from what was seen in the teaser trailers players will have to traverse deadly obstacles, and using stealth to avoid being attacked by enemies very much like Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Players take on a role of Voss, a loyal servant to a king who with the help of supernatural powers just committed genocide and sealed the souls of those killed in an ancient artifact called ‘’the heart of god’’ that was given to him by beings that came from the sky in which the king refers to them as ‘they’. These beings promised to grant the king immortality if he harvested the souls. Voss stole the artifact and is on a quest to hide it as deep as he can go in the old

Teaser For Survival Horror Game ‘Crying Is Not Enough’

The folks over at Story Line Team will soon be releasing a survival horror game that’s five years in the making, Crying Is Not Enough. This upcoming indie game will have players taking on the role of Jacob whose wife mysteriously vanishes from the hospital after she recovered from a car accident. Jacob then is told by a mysterious woman where his wife is and offers her assistance where players will be sent into a horrifying reality where Jacob will learn that his story is a minor plot in a tangled web of horror, hate, fear, and intrigue which he is now forced to survive. The game will be in third-person, from the teaser and screenshots I’m getting a sense of Silent Hill, Evil Within, and Alan Wake to it, the developers did say that Crying Is Not Enough was influenced by some big name games that left their marks on the survival horror genre in gaming. Keeping true to

‘Speak Of The Devil’: Enter The World Of Horror In VR

Not going to lie, VR glasses creep me out…something about my eyes getting sensors shot into them (I admit, I don’t know the science behind it). However, VR production Company Light Sail VR is hoping that everyone will be creeped out by their new project. ‘Speak of the Devil’ has been released for Samsung Gear VR and is being released on more gear as we speak. Available for $2.99, the project allows the user to get lost in the world of horror in a new and exciting way. The sinister choose-your-own-adventure experience takes viewers on a terrifying camping trip they will never forget–if they survive. With 12 fatal paths and only one ending that leads to survival, viewers are in control of the narrative as they explore the woods and come across different paths that lead them to their bloodcurdling fate. I may have to actually give VR a chance with this because it has definitely piqued my interest. Download

Blaming Video Games In Order To Save Face?

Donald Trump says he will be meeting with heads of video game companies next week to discuss violence and video games. This is in response to the recent school shooting in Parkland, Florida that was carried out by a former student who’s believed to be mentally ill. The topic of mental health and access to firearms has been a topic of debate since the shooting at Sandy Hook but one thing always comes up that makes records scratch; “it’s the fault of video games.” This has been a topic of debate since the ‘90s, do video games cause crime? Well, this goes back a bit more, 1979 to be exact when a strange incident was blamed on a board game. Back in 1979 child prodigy, James Dallas Egbert III vanished from his dorm room at Michigan State University leaving behind a suicide note. While the search for the boy was underway it was theorized by a private detective working for

‘P.T.’ Changing The Way Games Scare Gamers

Back in August of 2014 players on PlayStation 4 got the chance to play the first ever playable trailer that was known simply as P.T., a first-person horror game like no other. The game ends revealing that this playable trailer was for (at the time) the upcoming game Silent Hills a new installment in the game series, sadly production of the game was canceled. Along with the cancelation came the removal of P.T. from PlayStation Store rendering already downloaded copies of the game unplayable, a move that’s still heavily criticized. Some can argue that P.T. was not the first game to dome something like this, the no combat, first-person horror experience. It’s true, four years prior to P.T. gamers were scared by Amnesia: The Dark Descent, a survival horror game where players explore a dark castle while trying to avoid the creatures that stalk its corridors with no means to protect themselves. A month after Amnesia was released; Alien: Isolation

Almost two weeks ago it was announced that The Evil Within 2 was getting a free update that would allow players to play the game in a first-person style view. The Evil Within games are a cross between Silent Hill and The Matrix where you play as Sebastian Castellanos who in the first game was a police detective while in the sequel is now “former” detective. Sebastian is in a virtual world that was made possible by a machine called STEM, the machine operates with a “core”, a human acting as a battery, the first game it was a man named Ruvik, the inventor of STEM and a sadistic psychopath who’s twisted mind affected the world inside STEM turning some of those who were plugged into the world to turn into zombie-like creatures. In The Evil Within 2 Sebastian learns his

Horror Games That Need A High Definition Remake

Many games in recent times have been given an HD reboot to be compatible with more recent gamming consoles, Resident Evil (Biohazard) has been given a complete makeover with an all new HD game called Resident Evil (Biohazard) HD Remaster that’s available on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. This would be the game’s second makeover so I thought why stop with this game? There are some horror games in the past that I think are due for an “HD Remaster” makeover too. So here are a few games that I feel deserve a reboot into the HD age in no particular order. Alone in the Dark (PC, 1992) There is a game by the same title that was made in 2008 that’s part of the long game series, I’m talking about the original game that you played on DOS in the 90’s (real 90’s kids know this!) the game is actually considered the first survival horror game to be
