New ‘Alien’ Video Game Coming

A new first-person shooting video game set in the Alien universe is in the works over at FoxNext Games with Cold Iron Studios developing the game. This will be the first Alien FPS since Aliens: Colonial Marines that was released in 2013 by SEGA and Gearbox Software. Colonial Marines was ripped apart by fans and critics and was subject to a class action lawsuit on the grounds of false advertising as the demos of the game that were shown at PAX and E3 had better graphics than the product that was released to gamers. SEGA settled the lawsuit and Gearbox was dropped from it. The plot and more details about the upcoming game as of right now are under wraps so no confirmation if this is an original story set in the Alien franchise or if it’s directly connected. It is confirmed by FoxNext that the game is in the works along with a Planet of the Apes game as

A Picture Tells A Story: Review of ‘Fatal Frame’ (‘Gekijōban Zero’)

Any gamer worth their callused thumbs and carpel tunnel will tell you one of the best horror video games ever made would be the Fatal Frame series. Fatal Frame otherwise known as Zero in Japan and Project Zero in Europe is a horror video game series that’s deeply rooted in Japanese culture and folklore putting players against violent ghosts and the only weapon you have is an old camera with magical powers. Sounds silly, but the games are anything but, I’ve played many horror video games over the years and watched many horror movies as well but none of them have literally haunted my dreams like Fatal Frame. Needless to say, when I heard they were making a movie based off the first game I squeed how no man should but alas, the film was canceled which was possibly a good thing since it may have been whitewashed beyond recognition. I found out sometime later that eventually there was a

Petition To Halt Release Of ‘Slender Man’ Movie Gains Momentum

A new online petition is calling for SONY Studios to halt the release of their upcoming horror movie Slender Man citing the incident that made headlines back in 2014 when Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyser, both 12 years old at the time, tried to murder a friend and fellow classmate, Payton Leutner also age 12. The motive behind the attack that stunned their hometown of Waukesha, Wisconsin was that they wanted to become “proxies” to the fictional character Slender Man and prove their loyalty to him so their families will be spared by him. One of the film’s biggest critics and is said to have signed the petition himself is Anissa Weier’s father who calls the film “extremely distasteful” due to the fact that three families have been affected by this fictional character. Weier was sentenced to 25 years in a Mental Health facility after pleading guilty and subsequently found not guilty due to mental illness by a jury, Her

There’s A ‘Harry Potter’ Easter Egg In ‘Dying Light: The Following’… And It’s Spooky!

I’ve been playing Dying Light for a while now as well as its DLC The Following. Amazing game, but eventually I got a little bored and wanted to find a way to make it interesting, so I was looking around the internet to find information on some Easter Eggs. One that jumped out to me was a Harry Potter Easter Egg in Dying Light: The Following where they say that under the stairs of this creepy abandoned house is the famed Boy Wizard’s bedroom while he lived with his Muggle relatives. I found a picture showing where the house in question was located in which I hopped into my buggy and drove to the location, running over zombies that got in the way. After arriving at the abandoned hovel I walked inside and true enough, compared to other houses you can enter, it was abandoned and spooky. Note Spoilers ahead after the picture of the map! Once I explored the

Is It Time For A Real ‘Call Of Duty Zombies’ Game?

Call of Duty has been one of the most influential and successful video game franchises out there. You say the name and most people know what you’re talking about, but the last few years it seems many fans shrug at the mention of the game or talk down about it now regardless of what critics say about the games. What official critics say and the stats showing the sales of games are one thing but the biggest concern is, are the fans happy with the games? For years the game’s roots were mainly entwined in World War II but then ‘Activision’ left the past and came into a more modern era with Modern Warfare (2007) which seemed to have re-spark interest with old fans and opened the door for new fans. Not long afterward fans were taken into an alternate historical reality with Black Ops (2010) which eventually took the series towards more of a futuristic approach, but it was

Dolph Lundgren Leads A Zombie Killing Team In ‘Dead Trigger’

What do you get when you mix action star Dolph Lundgren and zombies? You get Dead Trigger. This sci-fi horror film from directors Mike Cuff and Scott Windhauser was written by Heinz Treschnitzer, based on the first-person shooter mobile game of the same name from Madfinger Games. The film, set in Terminal City in 2025, follows a mysterious virus that has killed billions and turned many others into bloodthirsty zombies. Unable to stop the virus, the government develops a video game, “Dead Trigger,” that mirrors the terrifying events that curse the world. The players who kill the most zombies in the game are recruited to combat the zombie horde in real life. The elite team led by Captain Kyle Walker (Lundgren) travels to Terminal City, the origin of the outbreak, to find a team of scientists who have been working on a possible cure for the virus. The only way to get to them, however, is to go through a

Swatting Prank Results In Death

Playing Video games online is supposed to be fun, well, not many people think so (me included) for many reasons but the main one is being “Swatted” (Swatting) a prank that involves emergency services most notably Law Enforcement, to respond to a call involving a violent incident. These calls are done anonymously through online services or programs which are supposed to make it hard to be traced (but can be). Swatting usually happens to high profile individuals, celebrities, politicians and gaming streamers but some people Swatted other players out of revenge, normally these incidents are potentially dangerous but on Thursday night it became deadly. Police in Wichita, Kansas responded to a call that a man killed his father and has taken people in the house hostage. After arriving and at the front door of the house, Andrew Finch (29) was shot and killed by a police officer as he opened the door. It turned out the call was a Swatting

The (Stranger) Thing

In 2002 fans of the movie The Thing where able to partake in a new chapter of the film’s universe by playing the 3rd person survival horror game, ‘The Thing’ where players take on the role of Captain Blake, a Special Forces soldier sent in with a rescue team to find survivors at the doomed U.S. Outpost 31 from John Carpenter’s film. Long story short, the events of the film and this game were part of some nefarious plot by a Biotechnology company called Gen-Inc who has subterranean research facilities all around Antarctica studying the alien organism in which a certain strain of the “Virus” was developed to be used in Biological Warfare. The game surprisingly did very well in the ratings and in 2003 the game’s developing company, Computer Artworks, were in the works to make a sequel to the game picking up where it left off, Blake flying off in a helicopter with R.J. MacReady, the protagonist from
