Game Review: ‘Home Safety Hotline’

Analog Horror is on the rise, and along with it are games in the genre but unfortunately not many of them are available for all gamers as they tend to be more geared for PC players. That has changed with the horror analog game Home Safety Hotline now coming to console this month thanks to Night Signal Entertainment, Torture Star Video, and Puppet Combo! Home Safety Hotline puts players in 1996 in the role of a new hire at Home Safety Hotline, a service where people call in with problems they’re experiencing in their homes, and players will have to determine what that issue is to help them. The calls started normal but quickly became more…paranormal. Now, onto the game itself! Controls for Home Safety Hotline, they’re relatively easy to learn and you have options to keep the prompts on the screen as you play (which is a big help). ‘Dollhouse: Behind The Broken Mirror’ Delayed

SOEDESCO has announced that the release of their upcoming first-person horror adventure game, Dollhouse: Behind The Broken Mirror, has been delayed till 2025, initially set to launch later this year. While no further information was given for the delay, chances are the developers more than likely wanted to make sure the game was polished before putting it out there for gamers as the call for “Finished” games is ever-growing, especially after the disastrous release of some AAA games, and even some indie developers had to shut their doors for good for making this mistake. Enter the broken mind of Eliza de Moor, a once-celebrated singer, now trapped in the labyrinth of her own forgotten memories. The only hope for recovering her memories lies with Doctor Stern and his experimental medicine. As Eliza, you’ll navigate the reality and the world behind the broken mirror, guided by the effects of the drug. Dollhouse: Behind The Broken Mirror will be coming out on

Who really was Yasuke?

Ubisoft’s upcoming historical fiction game Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is drawing a lot of attention with one of the main protagonists in the game being the legendary Yasuke, an African Samurai. This has caused an uproar online as a line has been drawn in the sand by armchair historians and gaming gatekeepers who are either for or against the character’s existence and cherry-pick facts from a tree that barely had any fruit on it to begin with. So, who was Yasuke? After around a month of researching, this is what I was able to come up with. Let’s first deal with the elephant in the room on this, Yasuke did exist as there are records both European and Japanese that talk about him, though his real name is unknown, but how he got the name “Yasuke” is coming up. Since he arrived in Japan in 1579 with Jesuit missionaries, along with Portuguese traders, he more than likely came from Mozambique before

Game Review: ‘The Mortuary Assistant: Definitive Edition’

The viral horror phenomenon that took the internet by storm has now come home to consoles, spreading dreadful fear and morbid curiosity in The Mortuary Assistant: Definitive Edition. The dry spell of horror releases has been broken and after reviewing two horrible games recently, this gem has restored my faith in the genre of horror gaming! The Mortuary Assistant: Definitive Edition puts players in the shoes of Rebecca, who just landed a job at a mortuary that is the center of local urban legends. After being called in late one night, Rebecca quickly learns that the legends are true. Now, onto the game itself! When it comes to the game’s controls, it’s a bit difficult as the game originally was meant for keyboard and mouse, but I found using the D-pad made some of the mechanics work a little easier. Playing with headphones is a must for this game as there are ambient sounds that mess with you as you
