Should The Bunker Open? : Game Review ‘Paradise Lost’

A big thank you to All In! Games and PolyAmorous Games for the chance to check out their alternate history Walking-Sim, Paradise Lost. The game runs similarly to Firewatch and The Suicide of Rachel Foster, while Firewatch was a good game and The Suicide of Rachel Foster desperately tried to copy it and failed to live up to its own hype, is there hope for this game or is it doomed to be left out in the cold of nuclear winter? Let’s take a look at Paradise Lost. Paradise Lost takes place in an alternative history where WWII lasted over 20 years and ends with Germany nuking most of Europe after moving all their desired citizens into a massive underground bunker system with the hopes of eventually returning to the surface with a new super army and ending the war in their favor, this never happened as the bunker is invaded by the Polish resistance who then take the bunker

Matt Kurtz’s ‘The Rotting Within’ Is A Clinic Of Horror And Storytelling

Characters Author Matt Kurtz has a way of making his characters seem like real people. Their reactions to being scared, uncomfortable, stressed traumatized and healing are all so realistic and well done that there is genuine empathy and sympathy for the characters in his story. I really felt more attached to Kurtz’s characters than I expected. Usually I am sympathetic to people in stories, but I am also keenly aware that they are fictional characters…this was not the case in The Rotting Within. The characters in this story feel as through they went through actual trauma, not just clichés of reactions to trauma. Kurtz has explored realistic and heavy emotion that fades the suspension of disbelief. Plot As heavy and atmospherically terrifying this book is, it is a fast-paced, deep story. Kurtz takes some common tropes (“don’t go into that room”…and then they go into the room) but makes them work within the realism of what’s happening. Each event makes

Jameson’s Cannibal Past

WARNING: The following may be disturbing St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner and people no doubt already have or are planning on stocking up on an assortment of Irish beers, stouts, and of course whiskey. No name or brand of Irish liquor stands out more than Jameson Irish Whiskey, but many don’t know that one of the heirs to the brand was involved in a case so horrid that his premature death saved him and the brand from public disgrace. In the 1880s James S. Jameson tagged along with the Emin Pasha Relief Expedition that was sent to Ottoman-controlled southern Sudan to give supplies since the supply line to the region was cut off by revolts. Jameson (whose journal provides all accounts of his time in the expedition) was left, along with others, in command of the Rear Column and it was here it appeared he became bored. According to Jameson himself, and other witnesses, he expressed interest and

That Time There Was A Vampire Pandemic In The U.S.

2020 and the infant months of 2021 have been full of somewhat interesting theories when it comes to the Covid-19 pandemic ranging from scholarly discoveries to claims made by keyboard conspiracy theorists. Though a lot of what we see and hear from the strangest corners of the internet fails in comparison to the rumblings coming out of New England in the 19th century. As you may have guessed (from the title) New Englanders believed that there was a Vampire problem plaguing the region. Over time there have been cases popping up all over the New England region of the U.S. where many families have been nearly wiped out by mysterious illnesses leading many within the communities to look towards the supernatural for answers as to how or why bad luck would befall an entire household. The common answer, one of the family members was a Vampire. People came to this conclusion because of how the house members died. In most
