‘Triggered’ Actress Reine Swart Talks Explosions And Gore In Our Interview

Back in 2018, I interviewed South African actress/director Reine Swart after being blown away by her performance in the indie horror The Lullaby. When I had an opportunity to catch up with her during the promotion of the new film Triggered, I jumped at the chance. Triggered is the action-packed survival horror from director Alastair Orr. In the movie, a group of high school friends reunites to celebrate the memory of the friend they lost. After setting up camp they wake to find they are fitted with explosive vests and all hell breaks lose as they are forced to fight to survive. Reine stars alongside Sean Cameron Michael, Suraya Rose Santos, and Liesl Ahlers. Horror Fuel: “Your new action-packed movie is about to be released, right?” Reine Swart: “Yeah, that was a really fun one. Alastair is such a great director.” Horror Fuel: “Yes he is. The movie is really intense and physical. What was filming like for you?” Reine

An Interview With Liesl Ahlers Star Of Survival Horror ‘Triggered’

South African Friend Request actress Liesl Ahlers and I got the chance to chat about her latest role as Erin in the new horror film Triggered and much more. In Triggered, a group of high school friends reunites for a camping trip to honor the memory of their friend who passed away years before. But suddenly the group finds themselves locked in a fight for survival after they wake up to find they have bombs strapped to their chests. Horror Fuel: “Tell me about Erin?” Liesl Ahlers: “So I play Erin. She’s quiet and quite mysterious. People might see her as an introvert. She has a little bit of a mysterious side to her. But that’s not all she is. People think she’s a wallflower.” Horror Fuel: “I watched Triggered last night and enjoyed it. It looks like it may have been difficult to film with so much running around in the woods at night. Was it? I imagine you

Movie Review: Triggered (2018)

Annoying, pain in the ass Callie (Meredith Mohler) is an obnoxious social justice warrior who spends her life reporting the supposedly offensive actions of her fellow students in spectacularly over-the-top fashion. Things are going swimmingly for her quest to find the ultimate level of butt hurt when a legendary serial killer returns and picks up the murder biz he started years previous. This chaps Callie’s ass big time as now the town is more concerned about being slaughtered and becoming real victims rather than the one she pretends to be every minute of the day. Speaking of pretending, Callie, along with her pal Ian (Jesse Dalton) devise a plan to fake an attack by the maniac (after Callie accidentally kills a fellow student) to put the spotlight back on our long suffering heroine. This of course goes over about as well as a fart on a submarine and our slice n’ dice antagonist targets that annoying bitch…err, I mean Callie
