Documentary ‘The Devil and Father Amorth’ From The Director Of ‘The Exorcist’ Gets Release Date

What could be more terrifying than William Friedkin’s The Exorcist? How about a real exorcism caught on tape? Recently, Friedkin set out to make a documentary of the real rites of exorcism, similar to those we witnessed in his terrifying, ground-breaking, 1973 film. In Friedkin’s The Devil and Father Amorth, we will witness the real exorcism of an Italian woman performed by Father Gabriel Amorth. Yes, I said real. In the early 1970s when I directed The Exorcist, I had not witnessed an exorcism but I wondered how close I had come to portraying reality,” Friedkin said. “I had been curious to meet Father Amorth for many years and when he granted permission to meet and film him in Rome last May, it was the opportunity to complete the circle and see how close that film came to reality.” Last year during an interview with Variety he said, “I had to shoot it alone, obviously. The conditions were that I

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Eileen Dietz

Sometimes when it comes to getting credit where credit is due, a person is left out in the cold without said deserved recognition. Frankly, my Little Monsters, that doesn’t sit well with me. And it’s something that today’s wonderful Woman of Horror had to experience in relation to what can be considered to be arguably her most famous cinematic contribution, but we’ll get into that momentarily. Eileen Dietz was born in Bayside, New York, and is one of three daughters in her family. She is one of a pair of identical twins, so when it comes down to which of the two is the oldest it’s most likely negligible, as they were likely born within mere minutes of one another. Eileen got into the business VERY early as she and her twin sister Marianne appeared in a soap commercial when they were only six weeks old. Of the two, Eileen was the one who continued on with acting and at
