Short Film Review: Button Man (2021)

Two sisters, Lydia (Melissa Claire) and Jade (Stephanie Panozzo) by name, head out into the wicked woods ror a lil’ of that sweet ass R&R. It takes about one hot second for these ladies to realize they are up to their elbows in the deepest of shit as the forest is fully stocked with human remains and terrible traps a-plenty… not to mention the eponymous Button Man (Don Bridges); a legendary psycho made flesh who marks his potential prey by leaving buttons on their eyes. Seriously, does anything good ever happen in the fuckin’ woods? The first thing you’ll notice about ol’ Button Man is that the cinematography is tight n’ outta sight… unless you are blind… wait, how are you reading this shit if you’re blind… Anyway, this flick looks like a million bucks thanks to cinematographers Jamie ‘Pees’ Lehman (I have no idea how this fella got that nickname, but I’m sure it’s a tale that wouldn’t leave

Stephen King Adaptation ‘Mute’ Premiering At The London Rocks Film Festival

The London Rocks Film Festival will be hosting the World Premiere of Mute this November, the 22-minute short film adaptation of Stephen King’s tale. Directed by Kyle Dunbar Mute stars veteran actor Andrew Bee in the leading role of Monette, a recently separated book salesman who confides his grim story to both a priest and a hitchhiker, looking for absolution. The chilling short explores the complication of middle-aged marriage and the mental distortion resulting from sins and confessions. Mute delves into the territory of somber human behavior, making the story a fascinating psychological thriller. Inspired by hitchhiker tales, director Kyle Dubar clicked with Stephen King’s original short tale Mute. “I really wanted to execute the first feeling I had from reading the novel Mute and I didn’t want to overthink pace or style. Adapting Stephen King’s work is no easy doing, but being a devout fan I wanted to make one of his stories and render it justice with the

(Watch) Short Horror Film ‘The Kiss’ Explores Post-Pandemic Anxiety In A Brutal Fashion

Pastel Wasteland, a Portsmouth, UK-based production company, focusing on horror genre features, short films, and content, has now released the new short horror film The Kiss and we’ve got it here for you to watch. Directed by Rob Ulitski, the film stars up-and-coming genre actors Bella Rich and Chris Mills, and “explores post-pandemic anxiety, through an experimental and grisly aesthetic. Shot on a micro-budget at the end of the most recent lockdown, the film was a labor of love and a step into the unknown for the cast and crew, whose output has been sporadic since the initiation of Covid safety procedures in 2020.” I’m so happy we were able to make this film, and channel some of our own anxieties, frustrations and fears into something creative. We are all super passionate about the horror genre, and the community of horror fans who help celebrate and lift each other up on a day to day basis”. Director / Producer Rob

Short Film Review: Elysia (2021)

Things start of hot n’ heavy in the new bite-sized monster morsel from director Wesley Mellott and co-writers Chloe Carroll, Elysia! As is the way of many a fang bang fright flick we get a lil’ of that ol’ Sapphic sensualness that scores high marks from ladies from the steno pool aged 24 – 45… and you lascivious lot as well, go on admit it! Anyway, vampire vixen Molly (the aforementioned Carroll) turns the comely (and eponymous) Elysia (Rachel Donahue) into one of her own, and they begin a life together that spans decades without either of them aging a single second… unlike Molly’s son who is now a real fossil of a geezer lying upon his deathbed. Molly being a smart, well put together, and completely in control creature of the night goes completely batshit after that and begins an incredibly dark journey to make the family whole once more… Now look, I realize my revoltin’ reviews are the

Short Film Review: A Most Unruly Guest (2021)

Remember when I laid my eerie eyeballs on the genius puppet-centric short flicks The Ghost of Weatherton Hall and Down the Rabbit Hole awhile back (if not head here and here for the revoltin’ reviews)? Mark Dickinson, the mastermind between that deadly dup mentioned above, is back (along with Fear Incorporated‘s William Westwater, who once again performs superb narration duties as he did previously) with his latest noxious nugget of horror biz goodness; A Most Unruly Guest! The long and short of this terror tale goes as follows: Young Fredrick answers a call to the manse of Lord Bentley who is preparing to host an unwrapping party… which if you fine fiends didn’t know was the Victorian-era practice of obtaining an honest to Satan Egyptian mummy which one would then de-bandage during a swanky soiree. Of course this goes slightly askew, and before the night ends, the dead will rise and all may be eternal nightmares for our dashing hero!

Short Film Review: Down the Rabbit Hole (2021)

Remember when I laid my eerie eyeballs on the genius puppet-centric short flick The Ghost of Weatherton Hall a few months back (if not head here for the revoltin’ review)? Well, that film’s creator, Mark Dickinson is back (along with Fear Incorporated‘s William Westwater, who preforms excellent narration duties as well) with his latest nice slice of horror biz, Down the Rabbit Hole; a take on Lewis Carroll’s 1865 novel; Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland! Down the Rabbit Hole catches up with Alice as she finds herself deep within the nightmarish environs of London’s Bedlam Asylum for the Insane after a nervous breakdown related to a family tragedy. To escape this hellish reality, Alice retreats to Wonderland… though that once vibrant and fantastic landscape has now become every bit as vile and wasted as Alice’s current location! The reason for Wonderland’s current state is directly related to the Queen of Hearts sanity, or lack thereof, as she’s become power drunk and
