Movie Review: The Rizen Raises the Bar For Lovecraft Inspired Fright Flicks!

As The Rizen begins, a young woman named Frances finds herself being dragged by the arm down a long, gore soaked hallway by a gurgling, chattering, sumbitch with his head wrapped in filthy bandages. What the creature doesn’t realize is he is not dragging a normal woman…no, he is in fact dragging a powder keg of unreasonable violence that merely looks like a woman, and before long ol’ Frances is bashing beastly brains into hamburger with a rock. As she travels on she meets a scientist (neither of our heroes are certain how they ended up in this location), and the duo travel on, fighting more of the monstrous madmen as they come. As our protagonists trek ever onward they unravel some of the mystery surrounding the tunnels, and how they got there; namely a military project to utilize the occult to win the arms race…which of course went over without a single hitch. I’m just F’n with you, it

Movie Review: THE RIZEN Delivers Sci-Fi Horror With Vintage Style

A decade has passed since the Allies achieved victory over the Axis Powers in World War II, but now a new arms race beginning to take shape. NATO and Allied Forces come together in a joint effort to win or at the very least stay ahead of said arms race. Taking a cue from Hitler’s playbook, these combined forces delve into the occult. With little or no true understanding of the otherworldly power they seek to utilize, there could literally be hell to pay for their meddling. And with Pandora’s Box now open, so to speak, the world faces a greater threat than it has ever known. This is where Frances comes in. She is an enigmatic woman, who awakens in a bunker complex, with no prior memory as to who she is or why she is there. As she traverses the endless series of corridors in search of escape, she encounters a scientist named Baughman and a soldier named

Bullets & Bodices – A Review Of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies

I’ve been waiting a long time to see Pride & Prejudice & Zombies from director Burr Steers who also penned the screenplay based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith and Jane Austen, which was fantastic. I was so excited when it was released last week on Blu-ray and DVD. I had high-hopes for the film from the beginning and I was not let down. The cast for this period film includes Lily James, Sam Riley, Bella Heathcote, Ellie Bamber, Millie Brady, Suki Waterhouse, Douglass Booth, Sally Phillips, Charles Dance, Jack Huston, Lena Headey, Matt Smith and more. Lilly James stars as the proud, Elizabeth Bennet whose fighting skills are as incredible as her beauty. Elizabeth, like her sisters, was trained in the art of fighting, which is necessary due to the enormous number of zombies that roam both the country side and towns, as well as the normal training for high bred ladies, like dancing and singing. Elizabeth and her
