Blu-ray Review: Sukiyaki Western Django (2007)

1880’s Japan, but it’s like the American old West. That’s the main conceit of the blazing insanity that is Takashi Miike’s Sukiyaki Western Django… a picture that has about as much to do with Sergio Corbucci’s 1966 epic Django as anyone of the four billion sequels-in-name-only that followed it. Along with that lil’ elevator pitch up yonder, the plot of this frenzied flick concerns two gangs; one coded red (the Heike clan), the other white (the Genji clan)… both lead by mentally unstable maniacs… who have a wild hair up their ass about having the biggest dick in the ol’ East, and to hell with the town caught in the middle. Enter: a mysterious unnamed gunman (Hideaki Itô) who’s none too thrilled about the gangs, or their effect on the community… hell, he’s just plain ol’ none too thrilled, and it doesn’t take long for the tensions and body count to rise… all in some of the most ludicrous ways

Director Tara Wood has finally successfully reclaimed the rights to the authorized Quentin Tarantino documentary feature, 21 Years: Quentin Tarantino, celebrating the life and works of the incredible filmmaker. The film, which explores Tarantino’s work-to-date, looks at the passion behind the worldwide box office dominator. The lightning rod that is Tarantino’s career illuminates the discussion of changes in the industry. In 2017, Wood, co-director of 2014’s acclaimed 21 Years: Richard Linklater, asked The Weinstein Co. to release the documentary following the onslaught of sexual harassment allegations against company founder Harvey Weinstein. TWC should respectfully release us from our deal,” Wood said in a statement at the time, “To allow the project to be handled with the care and consideration it, Mr. Tarantino, and all the participants deserve.” The company refused, and Wood embarked on a prolonged legal battle. ‘GUTS’ Coming To PS4 & Xbox One This Fall

Flux Game Studio’s fighting game splattering the PC gaming scene “GUTS” is now being developed for consoles this fall, this comes in light of some major updates to the PC version as well. The game is a lot (and not) like traditional fighting arcade games, with the exception that under its cartoonish appearance it’s ultra-bloody. “GUTS” is a game show (not to be confused with the 90’s Nickelodeon game show!) where fighters fight to the bloody end using unique fighting styles leading up to using your GUTS finisher. As the characters fight, they’ll lose limbs which won’t stop them as there are unique fighting moves associated with missing limbs! The comedic animations along with the outlandish violence confirm the developers claim that the game is a “Tarantino-style” game. Keep an eye out this fall as “GUTS” comes to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Luca Guadagnino‘s Suspiria is still months away from opening in theaters, but a few people have already seen it, including Quentin Tarantino who has given it a rave review. While talking to the Italian outlet La Repubblica, the director revealed that he shared his version of Dario Argento’s classic to Tarantino. I showed it to Quentin Tarantino. We’ve been friends since our jury duty at the Venice Film Festival,” Guadagnino said. “I was nervous but eager to hear his advice. We saw it at his place and his reaction warmed me. He was enthusiastic about it, in the end he was crying and hugged me. Because it’s a horror movie but also a melodrama, my goal was to make you look at the horror without being able to take [your eyes off the screen] because you’re captivated by the characters. Amazon is very happy.” Dakota Jonson stars in Guadagnino’s Suspiria as an aspiring dancer who uncovers dark secrets in her

‘World War Z 2’ Delayed In Favor Of Tarantino’s New Film

While we are excited about Brad Pitt signing on to co-star in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, we are sad to report Paramount will be delaying World War Z 2 (again). Due to the fact that Tarantino’s film is set to begin production soon, the studio has no choice to postpone production of the zombie sequel until this fall. Not only to Pitt star in David Fincher’s WWZ 2, he is also serving as executive producer. Eventually, the film will get made, it’s just a matter of when. Pitt will co-star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio who has been cast as Rick Dalton, a former star of a western series. Pitt will play the role of Dalton’s longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth. It’s been said that Margot Robbie has been cast to play Sharon Tate, the actress who was murdered along with several friends by members of the Manson family.
