Blu-ray Review: Dead Shack (2017)

A family heads out to the woods for a lil’ camping R&R with their pal, the meek Jason (Matthew Nelson-Mahood), in tow. Once there the kids, Summer (Lizzie Boys), Colin (Gabriel LaBelle), and the aforementioned Jason go on a trek through the woods while the former’s parents get trashed. As they press on, they discover a house deep in the woods…a house inhabited by a seductive woman (Lauren Holly) who just so happens to feed unsuspecting victims to her zombified husband and kids. After a series of misadventures…i.e. shitty sleuthing involving Summer and Colin’s massively inebriated father (Donavon Stinson), the gang find themselves BD in the horror biz as the zombie plague spreads and they are the only thing standing in it’s way. Yeah, two teens with ‘tude and one nerd against the forces of the undead…we may be fucked here folks! Dead Shack is one hell of a horror comedy my creeps! The cast o’ “kids” in the lead

It’s Up To A Group Of Kids To Save Their Parents In The Trailer For ‘Dead Shack’

XYZ Films together with Raven Banner have unleashed the trailer for Peter Ricq’s Dead Shack, co-written by Ricq, Phil Ivanusic, and Davila LeBlanc. Starring Cameron Andres, Lizzie Boys, Hannah Burr, Lauren Holly, Gabriel LaBelle, Taylor St. Pierre, and Donavon Stinson, the film is set “on a weekend getaway at a rundown cottage in the woods, a precautious 14 year-old teen, his crude best friend, and his best friend’s fearless older sister will have to grow up, work together, and save their hard partying parents from their predatory cabin neighbor intent on feeding them all to her undead family.” It’s shaping up to be a pretty good weekend for shy 14-year-old Jason. He’s driving up to a cottage in the woods with his brash (and a little crude) best friend Colin, Colin’s older sister Summer who comes complete with a permanent chip on her shoulder and pull no-punches attitude, and their father/step-mother duo of Roger and Lisa, who are permanently stuck

Raven Banner Snags Horror-Comedy Dead Shack

Raven Banner has snagged the rights to the horror-comedy ‘Dead Shack’ from director Peter Ricq who is making his debut. Ricq co-wrote the script for the feature with Philippe Ivanusic-Vallee and David LeBlanc. Lauren Holly, Donavon Stinson, Valerie Tian, Lizzie Boyd, Mathew Nelson-Mahood, and Gabe LaBelle co-star. The film, inspired by horror movies of the ’80s, follows three teens, Jason, Colin, and Summer, on a weekend getaway at a run-down cottage in the woods. The kids must save their hard-partying parents from a neighbor looking to feed her undead family. I guess that’s what happens when you pick a rental from Craigslist. Goodbye Productions’ Amber Ripley and Shayne Putzlocher of Trilight Entertainment will produce ‘Dead Shack’. Glenn Paradis and Sara Shaak will serve as executive producers. ‘Dead Shack’s’ official trailer has not arrived, but we do have the Kickstarter proof of concept trailer for you to check out.
