Dazzler Media Releasing Special Limited Edition Of ‘Mandy’

Writer-director Panos Cosmatos‘ arthouse horror Mandy quickly formed a cult following, scoring praise from both critics and viewers upon its release in 2018. Now, the Nicolas Cage starring film is getting a special limited edition release later this month from Dazzler Media. Also starring Andrea Riseborough and Linus Roache, the film features Cage in a stunning performance as a man whose peaceful woodland existence with his wife is brutally shattered by a nightmarish hippie cult and their demon-biker henchmen, propelling him into a spiraling, surreal rampage of vengeance. Mandy, hailed by Newsweek as a “fable from an alternate dimension,” is set to make its highly anticipated streaming premiere exclusively on Shudder later this month. ‘Mandy’ Starring Nicolas Cage Coming To Shudder

The film that IndieWire called “astonishing,” Newsweek hailed as a “fable from an alternate dimension,” that has a 94% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic named a “must see” is coming soon to Shudder! AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for thrillers, suspense, and horror has acquired the exclusive streaming rights to Mandy in the US from RLJ Entertainment earlier this Spring. It also acquired the Canadian rights from Elevation Pictures. Craig Engler, GM Shudder, said: “We were blown away by Mandy at Sundance and immediately knew we had to get this mind-bending masterpiece, which features an absolutely astonishing performance by Nicolas Cage, exclusively for Shudder members. Movie Review: Mandy (2018)

Red (Nicholas Cage) is a lumberjack who lives in a heavily windowed house deep in the wilderness with his artist/pulp paperback readin’/gas station attendant love Mandy (Andrea Riseborough). All is bucolic existence (minus a traumatic childhood story here or there), until the local evil religious cult, lead by the enigmatic Jeremiah Sand (Linus Roache), sets their sights on Mandy and conjures up a demonic ATV riding gang seemingly straight from hell to subdue her and Red. Sand soon appears on the scene and lays bare his past as a failed rock star who was blessed by “God” to do as he will, and he has the unholy relics to prove it! Mandy, in a drug induced…well, giant monster wasp induced, stupor rebukes his advances, which sets Sand off on a murderous frenzy resulting in her immolation. One problem though…they leave Red alive, and he is a bit pissed to say the least! As you can surmise Red then walks revenge

Nicolas Cage Gets Bloody In The First Image From ‘Mandy’

Nicolas Cage is taking a stab at another action-thriller. Cage’s next role is that of Red Miller, a broken, haunted man, who hunts down a religious cult who murdered the love of his life in the 1983 set film Mandy from director Panos Cosmatos (Beyond the Black Rainbow). Cage gets bloody in the first images (courtesy of THR). Cage will star along with Andrea Riseborough, Linus Roache, Ned Dennehy, Olwen Fouéré, Richard Brake, Sam Louwyk, and Bill Duke. Mandy recently wrapped principal photography in Belgium. Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah are producing for SpectreVision, Nate Bolotin for XYZ, and Adrian Politowski for Umedia. Nick Spicer, Lisa Whalen, Martin Metz, Todd Brown, Christopher Figg, Peter Bevan and Robert Whitehouse are serving as executive producers.
