‘Village Of The Damned’ Coming To TV

In 1957 John Wyndam wrote the novel “The Midwich Cuckoos“. In 1960 (with the titles changed to Village of the Damned) Wolf Rilla made it into a movie. John Carpenter followed suit in 1995 with another movie. Now, in 2020 it has been announced that the iconic story will receive the mini-series treatment, and I couldn’t more thrilled about it! Broadcasting Corporation Sky and David Farr are behind the eight-part mini series that will stay close to the novel-source material. “Wyndham’s 1957 story centers on the sleepy English village of Midwich, where a strange sequence of events culminates in the community’s women falling pregnant with alien children with glowing eyes and otherworldly powers.”

Phantom Of The Opera To Get Mini-Series

The Phantom of the Opera gets another remake…this one will be different though. The original story was written in 1909 by French author Gaston Leroux, but that story has been overtaken by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Broadway play to the point where it has become the story that everyone knows. Anthony Horowitz wants to change that and promises that his re-imagined 6-part mini-series will be much more true to the original novel. I personally have always loved the story and absolutely immersed myself in everything to to with the Phantom when I was younger so this is amazing news! I am very excited to see what Horowitz will do with the freedom of a mini-series.

“Ghost Adventures” Team Go Into Two Week Lockdown Inside Bagans’ Museum In Four-Part Series

In the terrifying “Ghost Adventures: Quarantine” miniseries, Zak Bagans and the “Ghost Adventures” team isolates themselves inside his Las Vegas Haunted Museum during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s widely believed that supernatural entities feed off of fear, the greater the fear, the more dangerous spirits become. Travel Channel’s special four-part miniseries “Ghost Adventures: Quarantine,” premiering Thursday, June 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and airing weekly through July 2, tests the theory firsthand, as Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley quarantine themselves for two weeks inside Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum in Las Vegas. In a frightening expose filmed entirely by the guys without a production crew, the team – maintaining proper social distance practices amid the coronavirus pandemic – discover how heightened levels of fear in this unprecedented time impact the dark energies attached to the world’s most haunted objects. With no recent visitors to the museum due to the closure, Bagans and the team are the first people

Blu-ray Review: The Stand (1994)

An accident at a military base unleashes the greatest plague mankind has ever known (nicknamed Captain Trips), and the resulting contamination begins decimating Earth’s population faster than shit through a goose. Adding to the apocalyptic calamity on hand is the fact that the hand-full of survivors that are seemingly immune to the disease begin having visions of either the kindly Mother Abigail (Ruby Dee) or the devilish Randall Flagg (Jamey Sheridan), and they are being called towards a rural cornfield in Colorado. Soon sides will be chosen, good and evil will have a final conflict, and the fate of the world will be decided! Comprised of one hell of a stellar cast, some impressive visuals, and gnarly effects and make-up, this adaptation of Stephen King’s epic is a fantastic fright flick that manages the Herculean task of boiling down the maestro’s dense work into something that both wouldn’t run 18,645 minutes in length, and could actually be played on mid-90’s
