‘Blade’ Announcement Coming Soon From Marvel

Back in 2019, it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Marvel planned to sink its fangs into a new Blade movie as part of MCU with Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali (pictured) as the title character, taking the role over for franchise star Wesley Snipes. The last we heard anything was back in October when it was revealed that the hunt was on for a writer for the project. But it’s been radio silence since, until now. At Disney’s recent Investor Day, Marvel’s Kevin Feige teased that we should be getting an announcement “very soon,” and that the project is finally coming together. . “As we announced at Comic-Con last year, we’re moving ahead with Blade, starring Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali,” Feige said during the presentation. He continued, “The development and storylines are coming together, and we’ll have announcements very, very soon.” We’ll update you as soon as the aforementioned announcement is made.

Marvel is synonymous with helpful superheroes out to save the world, but there’s a lot more to the Marvel Universe. The series centers on Daimon and Ana Helstrom, the complicated adult children of a mysterious killer, who have inherited special gifts. We watch as they hunt down the worst of humanity, as well as the not so human. Creator Paul Zbyszewski states: It’s about the family that we’re born with and the family that we create,” he said. “It’s a nature-versus-nurture story. It’s about the stuff that we’re born with genetically that we inherit and we carry with us because we have to. It’s about our environment that we’re raised with and the values that we’re imprinted with as we grow older, and that affects our ability to judge right from wrong, and our morality.” Tom

Book Review: Jack Kirby the Epic Life of the King of Comics (2020)

Jack Kirby is the single greatest comic book creator that ever lived. Period, full fuckin’ stop. You can disagree of course, and of course you would be wrong… I mean come the hell on; the dude created The Avengers, The Incredible Hulk, and most importantly to me, The X-Men, and roughly eleven-billionty others (including the genius of his New Gods work for DC, and creations for animation)… and his place in history is well-and-duly preserved, not to mention his influence on modern cinema with all of those Marvel flicks comin’ out every 15 seconds (well they were before the world temporarily turns upside down). So that brings us to Jack Kirby the Epic Life of the King of Comics; the new four-color opus from Tom Scioli (American Barbarian, G.I. Joe vs. Transformers, Go-bots, and Fantastic Four Grand Design to name a few), a genius-level creator in his own right… and one of my all-time favorite artists around today, who (not)

Marvel Duo Remaking Poltergeist

Hollywood’s obsession with remakes has struck again. Another remake of Steven Spielberg and Tobe Hooper’s supernatural horror classic Poltergeist is headed our way. This go around it’s from Marvel’s Joe and Anthony Russo who has been given the go-ahead to do what they will with MGM’s library. Deadline is reporting that the remake will be developed, produced, and financed by the filmmakers who have delivered some of Marvel’s best films including Captain America: Civil War, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Infinity War, and this summer’s Avengers: Endgame. This isn’t the first time someone has remade Poltergeist. Back in 2015, a new version came from director Gil Kenan and was met with mixed reviews. In that version, a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces must come together to rescue their youngest daughter after the apparitions take her captive. While there is no word about the remake’s cast, we have our fingers crossed that some of the Avengers

Opinion: The Rise Of Super Hero Horror?

After the trailer for the upcoming horror film Brightburn is still lingering in people’s minds and the growing anticipation of The New Mutants release, there’s something that can’t be ignored. In the current age of Superhero movies, these two are unique as they’re clearly horror films told in their own unique ways. The New Mutants, based on the comic series of the same name follows five young individuals who are being kept in a secret facility where they begin to learn that they have the “X-Gene”. While trying to understand their situation, the mutants experience terrifying visions that involve their past. The New Mutants is the first in a trilogy where as the next two films will feature mutants Karma and Warlock, and yes these films will be horror as well. Brightburn, on the other hand, is a unique take on the “Superman” story where in this universe, the humanoid extraterrestrial with superpowers is actually evil. As armchair experts try

New Zippo ‘Walk Of Flame’ Video Features Marvel’s Prop Master Russell Bobbitt

A new video has been released exclusively on IMDb featuring Hollywood Prop Master Russell Bobbitt who lifts the curtain revealing the magic of movie making and documenting Zippo‘s legacy in Hollywood. Bobbitt, Marvel Entertainment’s Head Prop Master for the last 30 years, is responsible for acquiring, designing, and manufacturing the objects the wind up in in the hands of Hollywood’s biggest names. In the video, Bobbitt takes viewers behind-the-scenes on LA’s leading prop house that holds over one million items in its inventory. As he takes us on a tour through the location he explores the critical storytelling devices that drives plots forward, his most famous creations and reflects how the Zippo lighter became a prop in over 2,000 film appearances. A prop is a way to create depth, and flesh out the character. Nothing is accidental – every item placed on set should enhance the audience’s understanding of the story. My role requires a keen eye for detail –

The Pronouns of Fandom

Disclaimer: Sports, film, music, and art will do more to unite a nation than politics. All of these, collectively known as “entertainment” allow people a sense of belonging, identity and sharing. They can represent the best of us as a species. All can inspire, amaze and make us and make us better people. Notice I left out any reference to “ownership.” Grammar Nazis love to focus on the improper use of “You’re” and “Your” and “They’re and There.” I suggest they look into the misuse of certain pronouns. Fans of any medium don’t seem to understand “Us” and “Them” or “We” and “They.” A sports example: The Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl 52. The players, coach, the staff that worked on a daily basis to make the machine run–THEY won the Super Bowl. YOU reading this did not. To see “We did it!” type posts online is another example of a spectator world that confuses viewing with doing. To be
