Saw: Legacy Has Begun Production

We reported back in July that the eighth film of Lionsgate’s ‘Saw’ franchise had found its directors, Michael and Peter Sperig, and was planning to begin production this Fall. Now, we can report that ‘Saw: Legacy’ has officially begun filming. ‘Piranha 3D’ writers Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger penned the script for ‘Saw: Legacy’. The synopsis has yet to be released. Oren Kroules and Mark Burg are producing. Dan Heffner and Peter Block are serving as executive producers. At this point it is not clear if Tobin Bell will reprise his role as Jigsaw. His character did die in the last film, but a picture has surfaced of Jigsaw’s grave disturbed. The photos, tagged to Bloody Disgusting, are said to be from the set of ‘Saw: Legacy’, but Lionsgate has not confirmed that. No cast members have been announced at this time. We will update you when we know more.

We’re Returning To ‘The Cabin In The Woods’ For A Sequel

‘The Cabin in the Woods’ has been hailed as one of the most important horror films of the past decade. At the end it appeared the world was coming to an end, or was it? Lionsgate has now approached the original film’s director, Drew Goddard, about doing a sequel. I’m not sure exactly how they would pull it off, but I would be happy to watch it. In an interview with Den of Geek, Goddard revealed part of his discussion with the studio about doing a sequel. “The studio has approached me and they want to do a sequel, funny part is, I don’t think we planned that movie to do a sequel, you know? But that being said, the fun thing about Cabin is, that rules are pretty crazy. We get away with a lot of stuff,” Goddard continued “So, I’me sure we could figure it out if we got inspired to. I know Joss and I both feel

Director Saman Kesh, who is relatively new to horror, will be directing the new version of the film, which is being written, based on the original script, by Phil Gawthorne (One Day in Hell). In ‘Cube’ science fiction collides with horror to create an interesting film. The movie follows seven strangers, who wake to find themselves trapped in a giant cube and must find a way to survive the mazes’s deadly traps. ‘Cube’ is now in early production. No cast has been announced yet. The 1997 Trailer for ‘Cube’

FX And Lionsgate Are Bringing ‘American Psycho’ To TV

FX and Lionsgate are looking to capitalize on the horror show trend by adapting ‘American Psycho’ for a new series. The new series is already being written by Ed Pressman, who will also be serving as the show’s executive producer. Ed Pressman and Allison Shearmu are both listed as producers. Christian Bale played Patrick Bateman, the main character of the 2000 horror movie ‘American Psycho’, about a man who is delusional and can only be labeled as having a serious case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder and a love for murder. The series will be a little a different from the movie. It will follow the character of Patrick Bateman, in his 50’s. Bateman has trained a protege, who has become his equal. I will say this, I’m really looking forward to ‘American Psycho’ the series. If Lionsgate and FX could only get Christian Bale to return to play one of his most iconic roles, I would be truly ecstatic! I

Lionsgate Facing Lawsuit Over ‘Cabin In The Woods’

Lionsgate has come under fire for allegedly stealing the idea for ‘Cabin In The Woods’. Peter Gallagher claims that 2012 movie ‘Cabin in the Woods’ is based on his book ‘The Little White Trip: A Night in the Pines’ and he’s claiming that ‘Cabin in the Woods’ producer and co-writer Joss Whedon is behind it. Director Drew Goddard and Mutant Enemy (Whedon’s company) has also been named in the law suit. Joss Whedon The law suit, filed in California’s Federal court on Monday, states that Gallagher believes that there are striking similarities between his book and the movie, including everything from character’s names, the events, mood and specific scenes.
