Game Review: ‘Blair Witch’ Better Than The Movie?!

Nothing puts you into the autumn mood than a stroll through the woods…creepy woods that is! Bloober Team were really awesome and shared with me their latest psychological horror masterpiece, Blair Witch, a game based on the 1999 cult classic found-footage film The Blair Witch Project that had such an intense marketing campaign that people really thought the film and the legend behind it were real. Without further ado, let’s take a spoiler-free look at Blair Witch It’s 1996 Players take on the role of Ellis, a former cop with a troubled past that seems to be on a mission of redemption to those around him as he voluntarily partakes in a search of a missing 9-year old boy who has gone missing in the Black Hills forest. This is not the first time Ellis was searching for anyone in these woods as a couple of years prior he helped look for three missing college students in the same woods.

Movie Review: ‘Climax’ Will Leave Your Head Spinning

Today I sat down to watch Climax, a film from Argentinian director Gaspar Noé who was also behind the films Enter the Void and I Stand Alone. The film opens to a young woman covered in blood, running across the snow. I came to learn later on in the film that the woman was fleeing from a dance school where a party had gone terribly wrong. At the party, someone has spiked the punch with a heavy dose of LSD and the dancers go from happy to a drug-filled orgy that causes utter chaos and murder. The way the film was shot and presented is a Suspira-like vision in neon colors. Between the colors, chaos, and strange angles, the film will leave your head spinning. Chris Rock Teaming Up With Lionsgate For New ‘Saw’ Movie

Funnyman Chris Rock is making his horror debut by teaming up with Lionsgate for a new installment of one of the largest and most successful horror franchises, Saw. I’ve been a fan of ‘Saw’ since the first film in 2004,” said Rock in a Lionsgate release. “I am excited by the opportunity to take this to a really intense and twisted new place.” The idea for the spin-off came from Rock himself who approached Lionsgate with the idea for the still-untitled film. First Image Released From ‘Ghost Stories’ Directed By Jeremy Dyson

Award-winning British actor Alex Lawther (The Imitation Game) will star alongside Martin Freeman and Paul Whitehouse in Ghost Stories, based on the stage play by the same name. Andy Nynam, who starred in the original stage production will lead the cast. Nynam also co-wrote the play with Jeremy Dyson who is directing the film whose first image has just been released. In the film, arch Sceptic professor Phillip Goodman embarks upon a terror filled quest, when he stumbles across a long lost file containing details of three cases of inexplicable hauntings. Warp Films’ Claire Jones and Robin Gutch are producing. Altitude Film Sales will be handling worldwide sales. UK distribution will be handled by Lionsgate.

Annie Clark To Direct ‘The Picture Of Dorian Gray’ Reboot

Following her directorial debut in a segment of the female driven horror anthology XX, musician Annie Clark (St. Vincent) will be rebooting 1945’s The Picture of Dorian Gray. Clark will put a twist on the story that originally centered on a man whose portrait ages while he stays forever young. In the new version, the main character will be a woman. David Birke has been brought on board by Lionsgate to pen the script based on the 1890 novel by Oscar Wilde. This will be the first reboot of The Picture of Dorian Gray, but the film has already been remade three times, once in 1973 and again in 2005. The third film was released in 2009 under the title Dorian Gray. The character has also appeared in several films and series including in the movie The League of Extraordinary Gentleman and in the hit series ‘Penny Dreadful’. Hopefully, casting news will be announced soon.

New ‘Jigsaw’ Poster Issues A Call To Action

One of the largest franchise in horror history, the Saw franchise, will soon be releasing its eighth installment in theaters, titled Jigsaw. The first poster arrived today teasing a familiar skull and a new killer. The duo of Michael and Peter Spierig will be in the director’s chairs for the film penned by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger. The Spierigs are also behind the upcoming genre films Winchester and The Dark Crystal sequel. Mandela Van Peebles, Hannah Anderson, Laura Vandervoort, Callum Keith Rennie, Brittany Allen, Hannah Anderson, Matt Passmore, Josiah Black, Michael Bolsvert, Shaquan Lewis, and James Gomez will co-star in the film guaranteed to be as gruesome as its predecessors.
