Movie Review: Elves (2018)

A kid gets possessed by an elf, and gets his dunce of a brother to crawl into an oven where then proceeds to cook him. I say “What the fuck?!!”, and thus begins Elves…a sequel to a film I’ve never seen (The Elf for you keeping score at home)… Things kick into high gear once a group of friends open a chest-full of elf dolls at a holiday soiree. Each friend takes an elf with them and before long they get possessed by the effigies who make them suffer for their “naughtiness”…with predictably murderous results. Will anyone survive the arcane ordeal to see next Christmas? First things first, as mentioned up yonder, I had never laid my eerie eyeballs on The Elf, and fortunately Director Jamaal Burden has crafted a simple tale that’s easy to follow for neophytes to the franchise. What you get is a big ol’ slice of fruit cake as our troubled heroes take on the visage

Movie Review: The Dawnseeker (2018)

In the future the sun has had enough of this world, and decides to go batshit and wipe out all humanity…that’s a bit much; it’s just dying out actually. Of course the people of Earth will not go down with out a fight so they send five mercenaries to a remote planet to obtain a mineral known as “stardust” to fix up the star. Of course the ship, containing our heroes crashes on the planet, and a murderous alien creature begins hunting our mercs post-haste! As the carnage rages on, it becomes a question of just how many of our protagonists will make it back to Earth alive! First thing is fucking first; I have no idea what was spent on The Dawnseeker, but the film looks absolutely rad ass awesome!! There are futuristic city vistas, cool costumes, spaceships, robots, excellent lighting and shot composition…the whole thing is a visual feast, and makes the world presented spring to vibrant, visceral

Starring Franziska Schissler, Alexander Kane, Jason Skeen, and Khu, the film pits mercenaries against a dangerous alien creature. Set in “2245, the Earth’s sun has dwindled and no longer provides the energy needed to sustain human life. Five hired mercenaries travel to an uncharted planet to collect a rare mineral known as stardust to replenish the dying star. After their spaceship crashes on the alien planet, they are stalked and hunted by a creature far more advanced than anything they have ever encountered before.” During our most recent interview with Price, he spoke fondly of filming in Oklahoma and stated that in Dawnseeker the character development was crucial. What we did was focus on the characters and why they were on the planet. When the creature shows up it’s an added bonus.”

Actor-Director Justin Price Discusses ‘The Elf’ And ‘The 13th Friday’ In An Interview

I had the opportunity to talk with actor-writer-director-producer Justin Price today who took the time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions about his upcoming film The Elf and The 13th Friday, along with some of his other projects. Horror Fuel: “I’ve heard that you have to loose and gain weight a lot for your roles.” Price: “I had to lose a lot of weight for ‘Alien Reign of Men’. We shot that in Iceland. I thought I would get into some Daniel Day-Lewis character work, right. I tried to look like a heavy, bulky guy, and I put on about 40 pounds. Then I had to drop it, 40 pounds sounds a lot easier than done. Gaining it was easy.” Horror Fuel: “Do you do that a lot?” Price: “What, fluctuate weight? All the time. In ‘The Cloth’ I was about 165, in the ‘Reign of Men’ I was 240, right now I’m at 185. It’s
