Constantin Films has found a director for their Resident Evil franchise reboot and it happens to be one of our favorite directors, Johannes Roberts. Roberts will also be co-writing the movie, Variety reports. Roberts has a killer record when it comes to horror and thrillers. He’s the director that brought us 47 Meters Down, and The Strangers: Prey at Night, and the underrated film The Other Side of the Door. Based on the video game, Resident Evil follows Alice (Milla Jovovich) as she battles her way through hordes of zombies terrorizing Raccoon City after an Umbrella Corp. experiment goes terribly wrong unleashing the undead plague. Co-writer Greg Russo promised fans just a week ago that the movie will return to the game’s horror roots. Obviously, I’m a huge fan of the franchise so to work on that was a lot of fun,” said Russo. “For me it was very clear-cut that I wanted to go back and make it scary

The Strangers: Prey At Night (review), the fantastically twisted sequel to 2008’s home invasion hit The Strangers, is now out on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital, from Universal Pictures. Directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) (interview), the film centers on a family whose road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s every limit as they struggle to survive. Christina Hendricks, Martin Henderson, Bailee Madison, and Lewis Pullman star alongside Damien Maffei, Emma Bellomy, and Lea Enslin. We highly recommend that you check out this action-filled slasher flick that’s based on a true story. Luckily, The Strangers: Prey At Night is now out on Digital, Blu-ray, and DVD!

A family, comprised primarily of attractive parents Mike (Martin Henderson) and Cindy (Christina Hendricks) and their slow pitch loving bro of a son (Lewis Pullman), heads out on a road trip to deliver their bitchitude sufferin’ daughter Kinsey (Bailee Madison) to her new boarding school, where it is hoped she’ll turn her wicked ways around post haste. There is a problem with this plan however when the family makes a scheduled stop at a trailer park to spend the night with some relatives…though the park seems as deserted as the local cineplex during a showing of Solo (my reviews will be timeless…timeless I tells ya!). Well it turns out there a few folks still kicking around; namely The Man in the Mask (Damian Maffei), Pinup (Lea Enslin), and Dollface (Emma Bellomy)…a trio of mass murderin’ psychos ready to get down and dirty with the horror biz on our dysfunctional antagonists! What follows is a blood splattered night of never ending

Johannes Roberts, the director that last year made us wonder if it’s safe to go in the water with 47 Meters Down, is now making us question if we’ll ever trust strangers again with Strangers: Prey at Night. Johannes and I sat down to discuss The Strangers: Prey At Night. He also mentioned that he found inspiration in two of the genre’s most classic films. The Strangers: Prey At Night centers on a family whose road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s every limit as they struggle to survive. Christina Hendricks, Bailee Madison, Lewis Pullman, and Martin Henderson star. Emma Bellomy, Lea Enslin, Damien Maffei play the demented trio of killers. Horror Fuel: “Earlier today I re-watched ’47 Meters Down’, I really like that movie.” Johannes
