Movie Review: Fear Pharm (2020)

Hershel (John Littlefield) offers a gaggle of teens a fabulous cash prize if they make it through his lil’ ol’ corn maze in two hours time. Seems like easy money… except Hershel is a psycho killer qu’est-ce que c’est, and so are his hulking brutish sons and freak-ass daughter (Aimee Stolte), and as you lot well and truly know; the family that slays together stays together… and those teens are number one on their “must kill” list! Thankfully for this fright flick, those teens; Brandon (Houston Stevenson), Wendy (Emily Sweet), Rustin (Chris Leary), and Melanie (Tiana Tuttle) by name, are a damn personable crowd, so we actually give a fuck or two whether they make it through the ordeal with all of their various pieces intact. Also of note is the excellent mounting tension this flick provides. Things move at a brisk pace, and the stalk n’ slay games keep you on the edge of your seat, and that sprawling

Movie Review: Cannibal Corpse Killers (2018)

Ol’ Pike (Dennis Haggard) and his fellow survivors of the apocalypse traipse across the damnable desert on their way to the epicenter of said apocalypse; Jawbone. Seems hot n’ dusty, but it’ll be a dull journey no doubt; I mean a tumbleweed here, some sand n’ scorching sun there…. maybe a cannibalistic demon-oid freak or two… Yeah, we are in for a joltin’ journey indeed cats n’ creeps, as along with the oppressive conditions of that sandy death-trap, and those goddamned monsters mentioned up yonder, Pike n’ pals must deal with a wacko known as The Magistrate (Ron Jason) who is fixin’ to raise an army of cannibal creatures of his own! Coming from director Joaquin Montalvan (who co-wrote the flick along with Eunice Font, and S.E. Feinberg), Cannibal Corpse Killers delivers a solid punch of low budget thrills n’ chills, and offers us a look into a world that comes off as a cross between Lamberto Bava’s Demons and

Movie Review: ‘Crazy Lake’ Is An Insanely Uninspired 80’s Slasher Homage.

It’s spring break, and a group of college kids are heading to a lake cabin that belonged to the uncle of one of their friends. The locale, known as Crazy Lake, doesn’t get its name from the wild parties that happen there. The name came about due to rumors that psychotic patients, who were subjected to government experiments, were disposed of in the lake. But maybe, just maybe, one of these maniacs didn’t meet such a watery fate. Perhaps this psycho is still out there, roaming the woods. If that’s the case, spring breakers should beware if they visit Crazy Lake, as they may become a part of its murderous lore. Jason Henne and Christopher Leto shared directorial duties on Crazy Lake, working from a script penned by Leto. The end product is pretty unremarkable and uninspired, as Leto has basically dusted off old tropes and cliches of slasher films gone by – more specifically the Friday the 13th franchise.

Movie Review: ‘7 Witches’ Tries To Spin A Dreary And Atmospheric Yarn

Weddings are seen as a union between two people, but it’s also the joining of two families. And while everyone hopes for a harmonious merger of family units, it can be an incredibly awkward time…especially when the families ar meeting for the very first time. Add to that a palpable tension between the bride to a bride to be and her sister, as well as Kate’s ex-boyfriend (who Kate’s family thinks she’s still with) and the comfort level can just bottom out. Such would be the case with Kate Boyle, whose sister Rose is about to marry her fiance, Agatha Sklar. Despite the love and support the members of the Boyle family try to lend on Rose’s happy occasion, sibling animosity hangs over like a layer of dark clouds. The wedding is to be held on the remote grounds of an old unused military fort, and this is where they will finally get to meet Agatha’s family. The Sklar family
