Blu-ray Review: Ghost Ship (2002)

Back in 1962, pleasure cruise ship the Antonia Graza has nearly it’s entire occupancy scissored in two by a seemingly freak accident involving a broken cable. Flash forward to the modern age, and a group of rough n’ tumble salvagers lead by the no-bullshit Murphy (Gabriel Byrne) catch wind of the ship just floatin’ out on the Bearing Sea just waiting to be plundered! Once on board, our heroes soon find they are up to their assholes in supernatural goings-on, and the ghosts that now inhabit the vessel are none-to-eager to give up their secrets! While the story isn’t going to set the wicked world ablaze with it’s originality (though credit where credit is due, the sequence where we discover the truth behind the ghost ship is top-notch indeed), Ghost Ship has plenty of things in it’s favor. Chief among them is the absolutely top-notch set design, with the titular location being fully realized, and completely (and fittingly) off-putting with

5 Overlooked Must See Movies From The 2000’s

There have been a lot of fantastic films that have come out since 2000. Somehow, some have gone without the love they deserve. We’ve come up with 10 overlooked and underappreciated films that you may have missed. If you haven’t seen them, stop what you are doing, grab a bag of popcorn and watch them now! 5. One Hour Photo (2002) Robin Williams stars as a mentally unstable photo developer who targets a family as they become a sick obsession in this psychological thriller. The dark and gritty, this intense film is Williams darkest role, he absolutely nailed the role of a disturbed man, earning the film a 4/5. 4. Fido (2006) Fido is one of my all-time favorite horror-comedies. It’s funny, a little cheesy (in the best possible way), and the most unique zombie movie you’ll ever see. Made on a shoestring budget, the movie was pulled off beautifully with special effects by Joe Castro who filled us in

‘Ghost Ship’ And Dead Crew Wash Ashore

Sky News reported that over the weekend in Japan a derelict wooden vessel washed ashore on Sado-an Island in the Sea of Japan. Japanese Coast Guard and local Police discovered the skeletal remains of eight men on board. Authorities believe the men are North Korean after life-vests with Korean writing where found on board as well. The conclusion that the men were North Korean came due to rising tensions between North Korea and the United States and a famine that’s occurring inside the isolated dystopian country which leads to the conclusion that these eight lost souls were fishermen sailing out in unfamiliar waters in the Sea of Japan to fish, a trend among North Korean Fishermen over the past year. Last week eight fishermen who identified themselves as North Korean were found on board their boat that was drifting in the Sea of Japan, they had experienced a problem with their vessel which resulted in it becoming disabled. So far

A Fleet Of Ghost Ships Arrive On The Coast Japan Like A Scene Out Of A Horror Film

A Fleet of eleven ghost ships have washed up on the coast of Japan. No, this is not the plot of a new horror film, eleven REAL ghost ships mysteriously appeared on Japan’s coast yesterday (November 28th), carrying the remains of of twenty-three sailors, like a scene out of the 2002 film Ghost Ship or the horror film The Fog. The bodies of the sailors are so badly decomposed that they are unidentifiable and have been described as skeletons. The only clues to the ship’s origins are a piece of flag in one ship, identified as a North Korea flag and a sign on one ship saying “Korean People’s Army”. The fact that ships appeared all at once would give the impression that they all set sail at the same time, but showing up the way they did is a little creepy. We will update you as the story develops.
