Blu-ray Review: Severin New Release Bonanza!

Hey cats n’ creeps, our dear fiends at Severin have got a beastly bounty of new and upcoming exploitation and horror monsterpieces that are going to make your (severed) heads spin…and I’m gonna slap my patented revoltin’ review magic upon each and every one of them! First up we have a sleazy lil’ number called: Emanuelle and Francoise (1975) Francoise (Patrizia Gori) arrives home from her modeling sesh to find her abusive ass of a lover Carlo (the legendary Big George Eastman) chin deep in the crotch of another. This causes ol’ Franny to commit that hoary ol’ chestnut; train assisted suicide. Enter Emanuelle (Rosemarie Lindt), Francoise’s sister who anonymously saunters in to Carlo’s life and begins the ol’ seduction bag (along with drawing unflattering pictures of herself…as one does). Soon she drugs that big ape and the fun really begins as she drags his ass into her torture room (hidden behind a moving wall in her apartment!!) where she

Blu-ray Review: Keoma (1976)

Keoma (Franco Nero), a half-breed former Union gunfighter proves the old adage that you can’t go home again as he returns to the land of his youth to find the entire place stricken with a plague. As if that wasn’t bad enough, his racist AF half-brothers have teamed up with a real shit heel of a dude, the Confederate tyrant Caldwell (Donald O’Brian) and the lot of ’em keep the town strangled under an iron grip of terror. Soon our hero teams up with his father (William Berger) and aging mentor George (Woody Strode) to attempt to rid the town of those no-good sidewinders! Coming near the end of the spaghetti western cycle, Enzo G. Castellari’s (1990: The Bronx Warriors, Warriors of the Wasteland) Keoma is stylish, loaded with over-the-top violence, and surprising levels of soul searching from our stoic, sharp-shootin’ hero. And while the basics of the story…ultra-serious gunfighter blows into town and has to protect the people from

Blu-ray Review: Anthropophagous (1980)/Absurd (1981)

After wandering through a small village in Greece (accompanied by one hell of a raunchy score), two German tourists arrive on a beach and get them selves all murdered up by something that comes out of the ocean. Speaking of tourists, five pals and their new acquaintance Julie (Tisa Farrow) plan on touring the islands. They hop on a boat, drink some Cokes, play some guitar, and ignore ominous Tarot card warnings…as one does. Soon most of the gang (minus the outrageously pregnant Maggie…seriously, she may be in the 5th trimester) go exploring the town…a town which is nearly deserted save for a strange woman in black and a cannibalized corpse here and there. Things aren’t going to well back at the boat either as Maggie is abducted, and the boat is set adrift stranding the group on the island where they shelter in a seemingly empty house. Soon they learn that a foul smelling, diseased, beast of a man
