4K Ultra HD Review: Tremors (1990)

Valentine McKee (Kevin Bacon) and Earl Bassett (Fred Ward) are two shit-kickin’ handymen kickin’ shit around the near non-existent desert town of Perfection. But all doesn’t stay broken fences and tumbleweeds for our heroes, as soon they are up to their asses in missing people, of which the town truly doesn’t have any to spare! The boys soon find out the culprit behind it all… the totally reasonable answer of giant mutant earthworms (nicknamed Graboids), as one would have surely guessed. Now it’s up to them, along with graduate geology student Rhonda LeBeck (Finn Carter) and survivalists Burt and Heather Gummer (Family Ties‘ Michael Gross and country-crooner/sit-com star Reba McEntire respectively) to save P-town and end that wicked worm menace once and for fuckin’ all! With it’s desert setting and ‘nature gone amok’ antagonists, you may make the assumption that the creators of Tremors may have been channeling the fright flick drive-in fare of the 1950’s when creating this putrid

Trailer Surfaces For Syfy’s “Tremors” Series

Last month we were saddened to have to report that Syfy had killed their plans to air the “Tremors” television series starring Kevin Bacon. Now, somehow, the trailer for the pilot has found its way onto the net and it makes us even more bummed that the series isn’t happening. While the plot for the show was kept mostly under wraps we do know that it was meant to be a continuation of the original film with Bacon reprising his role as Val McKee in Perfection, Nevada. Fred Ward would have reprised his role as Earl Bassett. P.J. Byrne (Rampage), Shiloh Fernandez (Evil Dead), and Emily Tremaine (The Blacklist) were set to co-star. The pilot episode was directed by Vincenzo Natali, the director of both Cube and Splice. Andrew Miller (The Secret Circle) wrote the script. Take a look at the trailer and let us know what you think.

Toks Olagundoye Joins The ‘Tremors’ Series

Who didn’t love the hit 1990 movie Tremors? While there have been several sequels in the franchise since, Kevin Bacon, who starred as Valentine in the original, has never appeared in one of them. But that’s about to change, sort of. Back in June, we reported that the television adaption of ‘Tremors’ had found a home on the Syfy channel. We also reported that Kevin Bacon will be there to reprise his role. That’s not all, Fred Ward will be back as Earl. Several other cast members have now boarded the series with Toks Olagundoye (Castle) being the most recent. Olagundoye will join Shiloh Fernandez (Evil Dead 2013), Megan Ketch (American Gothic), Emily Tremaine (Vinyl), Bacon and Ward. ‘Tremors’ is written by Andrew Miller with Vincenzo Natali in the director’s chair. 25 years ago Graboids nearly destroyed Perfection, Nevada. Now, they’re back and the town’s only hope is Valentine McKee (Bacon), who beat the worms once before. To do it
