Short Film Review: Elysia (2021)

Things start of hot n’ heavy in the new bite-sized monster morsel from director Wesley Mellott and co-writers Chloe Carroll, Elysia! As is the way of many a fang bang fright flick we get a lil’ of that ol’ Sapphic sensualness that scores high marks from ladies from the steno pool aged 24 – 45… and you lascivious lot as well, go on admit it! Anyway, vampire vixen Molly (the aforementioned Carroll) turns the comely (and eponymous) Elysia (Rachel Donahue) into one of her own, and they begin a life together that spans decades without either of them aging a single second… unlike Molly’s son who is now a real fossil of a geezer lying upon his deathbed. Molly being a smart, well put together, and completely in control creature of the night goes completely batshit after that and begins an incredibly dark journey to make the family whole once more… Now look, I realize my revoltin’ reviews are the

Fear Crypt Unleash Two New Short Films!

Those delightfully devious devils over at the Fear Crypt Youtube channel have sent a deadly dup of sinister short films my way, and as such yours cruelly is going to give them the ol’ revoltin review treatment! First up we have Fused: Sarah (Sarah McGuire) has one hell of a nasty-ass skin condition, and that shit is spreadin’ faster than the town whore. Needless to say, her doctor (Jennifer Femiano) is baffled, and her paramour Cassie (Katie Rohlfing) is none to pleased by the disappearing act our heroine has pulled since this eerie epidermal nightmare has begun. Speaking of ol’ Cass; Sarah finally lets her in on the fact that she has been havin’ more blackouts than the town drunk (just what kind of town do I live in anyway?!!)… something she’s failed to inform her doc, and when Cassie offers to watch over her during one such unconscious episode she gets an eyeful of more than she bargained for!

Short Film Review: The Drawing (2020)

A tortured artist (Christian Grose) has a real wild hair up his ass about a cloaked figure that keeps showing up in his drawings… even if he didn’t actually draw the entity with his putrid pencil. As the night goes on, that cloaked sumbitch proves he isn’t a mere eerie etching, and our hero won’t be able to just erase the darkness as he does in his scary sketchbook! Running a brief six minutes, this sinister short manages to set up a great lil’ conceit, namely; the artist that brings evil to life through his art… which has a true classical feel in my not so humble opinion. This gives the piece a nice sense of mythology, which sets off the joltin’ jump scares (that actually work) and gives everything a sense of depth… no easy feat given the runtime! All in all writer/director Dominic Grose (aided and abetted by the arcane artwork of Deidre Hume) has crafted a nice

The Fear Crypt Premiere of Horror Short FEED Arrives on 06/02!

Guess what boils n’ ghouls? Good ol’ Fear Crypt has acquired the non exclusive YouTube streaming rights to the short horror film Feed; which will have it’s premiere on 06/02. Why should you give a fearsome fuck about that? Well, Feed is described by it’s creators thusly: “Feed (directed by Will Lee) is a film born out of a simple goal: to create a classic horror moment. We felt drawn to slashers and creature features that had those iconic opening scenes where you catch a glimpse of what’s to come. Aesthetics and themes from movies like The Ring (2002) and Pulse (2001) were huge influences. We wanted to capture the dread of the paranormal while staying rooted in a single location. Sounds creepy cool A.F. to me! Set your eerie eyeballs here to be among the first to catch Feed on it’s Fear Crypt premiere comin’ your wicked way on 06/02!
