The Cabin Fever Reboot To Spread Its Infection Soon

Last year it was announced that a reboot to Eli Roth’s 2002 outbreak film, Cabin Fever, was in the works via IFC Midnight. The reboot will soon be here. It will open in theaters and on VOD on February 12th, 2016, to be exact. The reboot, directed by Travis Zariwny, was originally described as an exact remake, but that rumor has since been clarified. The film was based on the original screenplay by Eli Roth, but it has now been stated that aspects of the new version will be completely different, including all new death scenes. In both films, five friends on spring break head to a remote cabin on a lake. After arriving a plague-like, flesh-eating virus takes hold. The reboot stars Gage Golightly (Exeter), Matthew Daddario (Shadowhunters), Nadine Crocker (Deadgirl), Dustin Ingram (Paranormal Activity 3), Samuel Davis (Sin City), Randy Schulman (Wild), Louise Linton (The Echo) and features a cameo by Eli Roth. Here’s the original trailer for

Clever Girl’s Top 5 Films of 2015

This year was a fantastic year for film! “Mad Max,” “Jurassic Park,” “Star Wars,” and “The Terminator” all appeared once again on the big screen. Horror fans had an opportunity to enjoy remakes such as “Poltergeist,” and see sequels to “Insidious” as well as “Paranormal Activity.” We had the conclusion to “The Hunger Games” and finally got to see the works of Guillermo del Toro with “Crimson Peak,” and the rebirth of the iconic horror-thriller director M. Night Shyamalan with “The Visit.” Did any these films make my favorite five list? Read on to find out! _________________________________________________ 5.) “Dinosaur 13” Being from Chicago, I’ve had the opportunity to visit the Field Museum regularly. For those who do not know, when you first step into the main hall you are greeted by “Sue,” the worlds most complete Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil. A review of Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno

Before I go into how much I love The Green Inferno, let me start by saying the first 20 – 30 minutes wasn’t great, mainly because our main character Justine (Lorenza Izzo) has an atrocious roommate Kaycee (Sky Ferreira), whose 1990’s grunge, forced, hipster dialogue was one of the most horrific things in this film. I realize that the films director, Eli Roth, was going for with this, but it is either some of the worst acting I have ever seen or the best, Ferreira deserves an Oscar! I have seen this film 3 times and still can not decide what side of the fence I am on. Now that the worst part of the film is out of the way, let’s get to the good stuff! I personally believe this is Roth’s best film! Shooting 4k (digital) along with the films soundtrack really helps bring the jungle to life and ultimately the fear that our characters feel. The opening

Eli Roth’s Psychosexual Thriller, “Knock Knock”

It has been over seven years since the world has seen a directorial feature from horror director Eli Roth… However, in 2015 Roth released TWO, yes TWO, feature length films, “The Green Inferno” and “Knock Knock.” This review is about the later of the two. “Knock Knock” centers around a devoted husband, Evan Webber, played by Keanu Reeves, who just so happens to be home alone when two beautiful young woman unexpectedly show up on his doorstep. What sounds like a relaxing weekend for Evan, turns into a nightmare pretty quickly. Even though Reeves has some lackluster moments, I will say that pacing is beautiful and not once in the film are you kept waiting. Just 15 minutes into the film and we have already met the two leading ladies. Of all the modern day directors to use digital cinematography, Roth has somehow mastered it. He uses colors to play off emotion and drive the story forward… The lighting and
