Ancient Egypt is Booming in the Online Casino Industry – It’s The Perfect Time for a New Horror Film Based on the Period

There have been countless films set in ancient Egypt over the years, and one of the best of all time was in the horror genre. Karl Freund’s The Mummy in 1932 is considered a classic of the genre, but there haven’t been a great many other frightening flicks set in Egypt in the years since. With Egypt now being a popular theme in other areas of entertainment, such as the online casino industry, it could be the perfect time for horror directors to revisit the period and come up with a new offering. Ancient Egypt Could be the Number One Slot Theme In the world of slots, one of the striking things is the abundance of choice when it comes to genres. Movie Review: The Day of the Purple Sun (2018)

A woman with brain cancer (Margarethe von Stern…who also co-wrote the feature) enters a surreal version of the Egyptian underworld (this time comprised of bucolic fields, swamps, and gaudy rooms and industrial settings). She soon becomes obsessed with the mummification of deceased animals (at times overseen by a frog…could this be a manifestation of the fertility goddess Heqet? Not a stretch when you hear what happens to our terminal heroine next…) before being mummified herself by the god Anubis (this time represented by a man, naked from the waste down and adorned with a fetishistic mask that roughly resembles a canine countenance). Before long our protagonist encounters multiple versions of herself (or so they seem) as she attempts to reconcile her mortality and sense of self. The Day of the Purple Sun is more of an “experience” than a traditional motion picture. The film is comprised of aesthetics more than a standard narrative, and the end result challenges the viewer

Nightscape: Cynopolis by David Edwards

Being a horror reviewer is difficult, sometimes. I get emails multiple times a day with requests for me to review movies, books, shows… You name it, people are trying to get my eyes on it. Typically I can skim across these emails and not give them too much thought. (Needless to say, most don’t catch my eye. My reading/watching queue is way too long!) However, when I got the email last month regarding the Worldwind Book Tour for Nightscape: Cynopolis, I knew I had to pounce. Everything about this premise was unique, and I’ve always loved Egyptian mythology (where else does ones mind go when they read the phrase ‘jackal headed beasts’? Everything about this book screamed ‘must read’ and I knew I had to see if it would live up to the (arguably self-generated) hype. Book Description: Detroit’s eastside has seen its share of horrors. Once-proud factories gutted for scrap. Whole neighborhoods burned out and boarded up. Nature drained
