The Road to Death House Part 1

Let’s build on Eli Roth’s prescient observation. I have written quite a bit on cynicism in filmmaking. If you are just coming to my series, stop here. Go back and read my other pieces. Then you can read this in context. However, he is talking about a SMALL percentage of fans. This is not a general description at all. We prefer to focus on the majority of horror fans that do the opposite of Roth’s comments. I have provided an open door, a very wide door, into the production of a movie since “Death House” started filming. “Death House” is my fifth feature film: the fifth I have written and the third I have directed. It’s been a long road, and frankly, I am doing what no one else is doing in Hollywood, making consistent, high quality product on very low budgets. I’ve made one film a year since doing this profession full time. “Death House” was brought to me

Death House To Wrap Principle Photography Soon – First Images Released

Harrison Smith’s upcoming film Death House, referred to as “The Expendables of horror”, will wrap principle photography at Holmesburg Prison in Philadelphia next week. The film has a cast so impressive it makes you feel as if your head is going to explode. But don’t be mistaken, Death House, which is set to be the first film in a six film franchise, is not some gimmick that relies on cameos to carry the film. It has a great story. And no, there is no Freddy vs Jason scenes or anything like that. The stars play new characters from an original story created by Gunnar Hansen, the actor who played Leatherface in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and written and directed by Smith. Smith has several great horror films to his credit, including 6 Degrees of Hell,Camp Dread, The Fields and Zombie Killers: Elephant’s Graveyard. And if you have read his pieces on “Cynema” on our website you would know that

An Interview With Writer & Producer Kerry Fleming Of ‘Rock Paper Dead’

Last night I sat down for an interview with Kerry Fleming, the co-writer and co-producer of the horror movie ‘Rock Paper Dead’. Mr. Fleming and I had the best conversation about horror, that I’ve had in a very long time. It was very refreshing to hear him talk about his horror movie and the genre the way he did, with so much enthusiasm and pride. I know that those emotions will be evident in the quality of this movie, which I can’t wait to see. When I first heard about ‘Rock Paper Dead’ I was excited by the actors that had already signed up for roles, a group of true horror legends. ‘Cujo’ actress Dee Wallace, Michael Berryman of ‘The Hills Have Eyes’, and both Kane Hodder and Ari Lehman, who have played Jason in ‘Friday The 13th’, are all the cast list. ‘Rock Paper Dead’ also stars ‘X-Men’ actor Bruce Davison and Mikaela Hoover of the 2014 hit ‘Guardians
