E3 Trailer For Upcoming Dark Fantasy RPG ‘GreedFall’

With E3 fast approaching, Spiders and Focus Home Interactive today released the story trailer for their upcoming dark fantasy RPG GreedFall and showcases one of the major elements in the game’s story, making choices. GreedFall takes place in a 17th-century world where settlers go and establish settlements on a mysterious island called GreedFall that’s rumored to be full of lost treasure, magic, and secrets. The player’s character is venturing to GreedFall to look for a cure for an illness ravishing their home country. While on the island, Players will be dropped in the middle of increased tension between settlers and the native inhabitants who believe in supernatural guardians that protect the island and lives within nature. Players will have to journey through this world and make choices that will determine the outcome of the story as well as affecting their fate. There’s no one way to complete missions in the game. Players can use combat, diplomacy, or deception to accomplish

Game Review: ‘Vaporum’ Delivers What It Promises

Fatboy Games and Merge Games were kind enough to give me the opportunity to try their new dungeon crawler game, Vaporum. This first-person game takes the elements of old school dungeon crawling games but revamped them with a Steampunk twist. You play as a man who woke up in front of a tall metal structure in the middle of the ocean. With no memories of who he is he feels that the building is familiar. Going inside you quickly realize there’s something about this place that’s wrong. The movement of the game harks back to how old dungeon crawlers worked, to moves a square at a time as if you’re on a game board. It took some getting used to but I found no problem with it but if you’re someone that might not like it, don’t worry, there’s an option to make the movements smoother. Combat is pretty standard when it comes to RPG’s, you use your weapon and

Women Of Horror Month: Melina Juergens, From Video Editor To Award-Winning Actress

Imagine you’re at work one day and by chance, they needed someone to step in and perform a task you were not trained for and you nailed it on your first try. After impressing your coworkers you keep the position and as a result, you won the highest honors for it. This is what happened to Melina Juergens, my personal pick for Women of Horror Month. German-born Melina was working as a video editor for Ninja Theory while they were in the middle of making, what would become, their multi-award-winning video game, Hellbade: Senua’s Sacrifice. When the time came to animate the title character’s movements, Melina stepped in to don the motion capture suit and perform as the game’s heroine Senua, this inadvertently became an audition. Impressing everyone, Melina was now officially playing the title role both voicing and acting out her actions via-motion capture. Adding more to it, her likeness was used for Senua forever cementing her place in

Ninja Theory Creates “Senua’s Scholarship” After Their Video Game Heroine

It’s no big secret; I love “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice”, the dark fantasy video game by Ninja Theory struck a chord with many players as it deals with the sensitive subject of mental health, uniquely through the eyes of a young woman back in early human history during the time of Celts and Vikings. In order to make the symptoms of Senua’s psychosis authentic, Ninja Theory consulted with Mental Health experts as well as individuals who actually are going through treatment for the illness. Because of this delicate attention to detail, “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice” to date has won 19 awards! Proceeds of the sale of the game went towards charities involving mental health but now Ninja Theory has taken it a step further, by creating a scholarship that will fund training for mental health tutors at the CPFT Recovery College East who played a big role in helping with research for the game, the scholarship is appropriately named “Senua’s Scholarship”. Movie Review: Obsidian Curse (2016)

Party girl/junkie Blair (Karin Brauns) is sent to the big house for a year after being arrested while snorting coke off from a woman’s stomach, as one does. After being released from prison, she’s clean and sober, but she discovers her boyfriend Roberto has moved on and gotten married, and worse still…his new beau is her daughter’s new mother figure…and Blair’s time with her daughter is extremely limited and court supervised until she can find steady work…which will prove difficult with that prison record and all. Eventually Blair finds work as a tour guide in a large cavern…at least that’s what she thinks. In actuality she is lured to the cavern so an ancient witch can pawn off a curse on Blair and make her a magnet for all of the evil monsters in the world…of which there are a surprising number. Now she is in for the fight of her life to survive the ever attacking nightmare legions which

The Four Horsemen Can’t Enjoy Retirement In Webtoon, ‘Apocalyptic Horseplay’

What do you get when you have a cantankerous motley crew like the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in retirement, a nosey journalist student, and the antichrist rolled into one story? You get the Webtoon Apocalyptic Horseplay by artist Boredman. The story follows Angela, a former journalist student who’s trying to make a name for herself by investigating a strange newspaper that only reports positive news. She soon finds that the authors of the paper are the Four Horsemen who have retired and renounced their ways and wish to live quietly in England. The discovery soon sparks unwanted attention from a secretive society of monster hunters and a child who is the antichrist. It should be noted that a couple of the characters who appear in Apocalyptic Horseplay have appeared first in another one of Boredman’s comics, Undeaded, which is another excellent Webtoon! With a dark fantasy story told through a picturesque style that resembles Disney, Apocalyptic Horseplay is an
