Blu-ray Review: Ten Minutes to Midnight (2020)

Amy Marlowe (Caroline Williams, of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) is getting the boot from her late-night heavy metal radio show, Ten Minutes to Midnight after 30 years on WLST radio… which will doubtless come as a huge surprise to her as the sleazy station manager, Bob (William Youmans), has decided to keep it all a secret until the night of. You know what else probably surprised Amy? The fact that she was bitten on the neck by a rabid bat on the way to work. I know that would raise my fuckin’ eyebrows… Causing our heroine even more static is the bright young recent graduate Sienna (Nicole Kang) whom Bob forces on her as a job shadow… but it’s obvious she is to be Amy’s replacement. Speaking of Sienna, Amy straight-up bites her ass (well her hand to be precise, but you cats n’ creeps know what I mean… ) after a disastrous show, after which she eats a

Movie Review: Ten Minutes to Midnight

Office politics have never gotten quite the cinematic workout that they do in director Erik Bloomquist’s Ten Minutes to Midnight. To say that it goes down unexpected paths would be an understatement, and that is just part of the bizarre fun of this well-made shocker. Caroline Williams (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 [1986], Halloween II [2009], and more than three dozen other horror outings) plays Amy Marlowe, a veteran disc jockey whose night starts off with a bat bite during an approaching hurricane on her way to work — and things are only going to get worse for her. She soon finds out that this will be her last night before being forcefully retired by her smarmy, sleazy boss Robert (William Youmans) and replaced by his new, young protégé Sienna (Nicole Kang of Swallow [2019] and the Batwoman TV series). Station security guard Ernie (Nicholas Tucci of The Ranger [2018] and You’re Next [2011]) has locked down the building because

‘Bloody Ballet’ Dances Towards Its Release

In the tradition of Suspiria, and featuring horror icons Caroline Williams and Debbie Rochon, Bloody Ballet is dancing towards its November release date. “When a beautiful ballerina dancer, Adriana Mena (Kendra Carelli, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), lands the lead role in the upcoming Nutcracker performance, she’s forced to face her demons as jealousy and tension begin to provoke the supernatural.” The horror-thriller blends the atmosphere and suspense of thriller fiction with elements of horror fiction and eroticism – in the vein of Dario Argento’s and Suspiria and Sergio Martino’s Torso – Bloody Ballet is a tour-de-force for rising filmmaker Brett Mullen, who co-wrote the script with Matt Cloude. Caroline Williams (Texas Chainsaw Massacre II, Halloween II), Debbie Rochon (Model Hunger, Death House), Katie Carpenter (“The Haunting of Hill House”), Brett Wagner (The Happytime Murders), and Rob Springer (Bombshell Bloodbath) star in Bloody Ballet, out November 13th on VOD and December 4th on DVD from High Octane Pictures.

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Caroline Williams

If today is Wednesday, that can mean only one thing my Little Monsters…well, it can mean other things too. But you all know what I’m getting at; it’s that day when we shed a little light on yet another wonderful Woman of Horror. And as you have already seen today our lucky lady (or are we the lucky ones, huh, huh?) is Caroline Williams. Caroline is a product of Texas, and was born in Rusk County on the Eastern side of the state. Her first part, albeit a small one, was as a pageant contestant in Michael Ritchie’s satirical pageant comedy from 1975, Smile. But it would be a full ten years before Caroline would return to the big screen, co-starring alongside Ed Harris and Amy Madigan in the film, Alamo Bay. Over the next year she would appear in four more films, but there was one in particular that would establish Caroline as an iconic Woman of Horror. In

BLOOD FEAST Receives An Expanded Release And New Date

One of the few, and I mean very few, remakes I’ve looked forward to seeing is director Marcel Walz’s Blood Fest, originally released in 1963 by H.G. Lewis. A distribution deal had been struck and Medallion Releasing was set to release Blood Feast in theaters on April 28, 2017. Instead a new date has been announced. Due to fan demands, Blood Feast will be getting a wider release on June 23, 2017. Starring Robert Rusler, Caroline Williams, Sophie Monk, and Sadie Katz, the story centers on Fuad Ramses (Rusler) and his family who have moved from the US to France, where they run a diner. With business not going well, Fuad takes a second job as the night shift at a museum of ancient Egyptian culture. During the long, lonely nights, he finds himself drawn to an ancient statue of the goddess Ishtar (Katz). He becomes more and more drawn to her as she speaks to him in visions. Eventually
