Movie Review: The Parish (2021)

Today, I’m here to discuss director David S.Hogan’s supernatural thriller The Parish. Scripted by Todd Downing, The Parish stars Devil’s Rejects actor Bill Oberst Jr., Angela DiMarco, Sanae Loutsis, and Ray Tagavilla. The film starts off with the heartbreaking story of a family grieving the loss of Jacob, a husband, and a father. With a plan of starting over, Liz and her daughter Audrey (Sanae Loutsis) move to a new town. It’s not long before the two begin to meet people that others can’t see. The ghost of Jacob gives them stern and mysterious warnings. Luckily, the local priest is there to help when things become darker and more dangerous, revealing the story of a dangerous mystery that has plagued the town for over sixty years. The Parish is slow out of the gate but picks up some speed midway through. If you’re looking for something action-packed this may not be the film for you, but if you are willing

Movie Review: The Good Things Devils Do (2020)

Richard (genre vet Bill Oberst Jr.) is a thief out for one last kick. Along for the final heist is his daughter and partner-in-crime Mouse (Mary Katherine O’Donnell) and Percy (Kane Hodder; THE Jason Voorhees mother fucker!), a true psychopath of an individual who truly annoys the ever-lovin’ piss out of Rich. Meanwhile, Melvin (David Rucker III) and his stepdaughter Caroline (Kelley Wilson Robinson) are hangin’ around their museum of outre oddities, just taking care of their newest acquisition; the supposed remains of a vicious vamp known as Masquerade (Veronika Stoykova). Of course those remains are legit A.F., and soon Masquerade is up and about, and you know damn well she’s crosses paths with that criminal crew mentioned up yonder… on Halloween night no less! Writer/director Jess Norvisgaard wastes no time with The Good Things Devils Do; and delivers plenty of murder n’ mayhem from nearly beginning to end, with plenty of the red sauce splashed about when called for!

Movie Review: Devil’s Junction: Handy Dandy’s Revenge (2019)

Richie-rich Steffen (Jake Red) gets the shit-hot idea to take his pals Doc (Danni Spring), Abby (Cody Renee Cameron), Rosie (Kyle Anderson), Rick (Arhtur Marroquin), and Josie (KateLynn E. Newberry) on a whistle-stop tour tour through a junky A.F. TV studio his pappy, Richard (the legendary Bill Moseley of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and Devil’s Rejects fame), has just bought lock, stock, and beastly barrel (with the idea of turning it into a fancy-ass nightclub). As fate and horror biz tropes would have it, that studio has one of those dark pasts that are so popular with the kids these days, as it once was the home to ventriloquist Mr. Jolly (the equally legendary Bill Oberst Jr. who has starred in a literal shit-ton of fright flicks, and was recently seen in Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell), his dummy Handy Dandy (Jake LaMarca on vocal duties), and their children’s program… a program who’s prepubescent studio audience keeps turning up
