DVD Review: Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! (2020)

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this blog post. The opinions I share are my own. Scooby (Frank Welker) and the gang, Fred (also voiced by Welker), Daphne (Grey Griffin), Velma (Kate Micucci), and Shaggy (Matthew Lillard) are up to their arcane armpits in preternatural peril when ye olde friendly neighborhood pumpkin patch is covered in toxic waste (accompanied by a cue that definitely brings to mind 1985’s Return of the Living Dead) which results in the pumpkins coming to life and they have the horror biz foremost on their monstrous minds! Elvira And Bill Nye Join Scooby-Doo And The Gang For New Halloween Movie

We’re in for a treat this Fall, Scooby-Doo and the gang will be starring in a new Halloween movie, Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! And we’ve got the trailer (via Syfy Wire). Get this, Scream Queen Cassandra Peterson aka Elvira, DC’s Scarecrow, Bill Nye, and some seriously evil pumpkins will be making an appearance! “With fake monsters and candy galore, Halloween is heaven for these hungry foodies going door-to-door. But this year, their sweet holiday turns sour when the neighborhood pumpkin patch is infected by toxic ooze, creating high-flying jack-o-lanterns, and a king-sized pumpkin leader squashing everything in its path. It’s up to Scooby-Doo and the gang as they team up with their pals, Bill Nye the Science Guy and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, to solve this mystery of gigantic proportions and save Crystal Cove!” The straight to home video movie features Frank Welker as the voice of Scooby-Doo and Fred Jones; Matthew Lillard voices Shaggy Rogers; Grey Griffin as Daphne
