Jen And Sylvia Soska’s Reimagining Of Rabid Slaying At Screenings

When Jen and Sylvia Soska‘s reimagining of David Cronenberg’s 1977 classic, Rabid was announced last year I was thrilled. I’ll be honest, I’ve been a fan of the “Twisted Twins” since I first saw American Mary back 2012. Today, I have the pleasure of reporting that the sisters announced via Twitter that Rabid has been officially completed. On top of it, the film has already been test-screened and people are singing its praises. There’s a type of postpartum depression that comes with finishing a film. We directors, we’re masochists. We live for it. When it’s over, there’s just a huge void. That said, I’m excited for the future. — The Soska Sisters (@twisted_twins) February 22, 2019 Laura Vandervoort stars alongside Greg Bryk, Stephen Huszar, Benjamin Hollingsworth, and Stephen McHattie. What happens when you realize that to achieve your dreams you have to live a nightmare? Rose (Laura Vandervoort) is a quiet, demure, unassuming woman in her looks and actions. Her

Short Film Review: Parlour Tricks (2018)

Family members gather in a Victorian parlour to attend a seance conducted to communicate with their deceased aunt…in order to determine how she wanted her possessions and money distributed as she left no will. As the seance occurs, these vultures…err, loving relatives encounter a spirit close to them, but not exactly the one they intended on… Written and Directed by legendary horror biz Scream Queen and Burlesque performer Tristan Risk (American Mary), Parlour Tricks is one hell of a campy, over-the-top, piece of creepy comedy! Starring a fantastically game cast including: Gidget Gravedigger (Caravan of Creeps, Dark Entries podcast, Abracadaver Cabaret), Emma Eldritch (Abracadaver Cabaret, Dark Entries podcast, Osculum Infame), Tyler Nichols (Howard Lovecraft and the Undersea Kingdom, 28 Geeks Later), and Sean Covernton (Princess Blasteroid, TheBasketball Game, Trick or Treat:The Halloween Party), and featuring wonderfully moody black and white cinematography by Jordan Barnes-Crouse (which creates a nice contrast to the ridiculous action happening on screen) this is an impressive

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Katharine Isabelle

Welcome back, my Little Monsters. It’s Wednesday again, and of course you all know what that means. It’s time to shine a spotlight on another one of our wonderful Women of Horror. Who’s today’s talented lady? You’ve already read it in the title, but just for the hell of it, I’ll type it again. Today’s talented lady is Katharine Isabelle (flutters eyelashes and swoons). Ms. Isabelle, born Katharine Isobel Murray, hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In 1989, an 8-year-old Katie Murray kicked off her acting career, appearing in five movies (one made-for-TV) and an episode of MacGyver. In 1991, she began going by the name Katharine Isabelle, thus edging much closer towards her current moniker. Her journey towards the macabre began with roles on television shows like Ray Bradbury Theater, Goosebumps, and The X-Files. She would make her first film appearance in the horror genre, as Lindsay Clark in the 1998 film, Disturbing Behavior. And while this role did

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Jen and Sylvia, The Soska Sisters

As we all know, my Little Monsters, February only has 28 days or 29 when we happen to be in a leap year. And while Women in Horror Month officially ended yesterday, I’m going to buck the trend and add one more day…Just because I feel like it. Frankly I believe that the talented women in horror, or women in general for that matter, should be recognized and celebrated EVERY day of every month. So without further ado, lets get this show on the road. The horror genre got it’s hooks into Jen and Sylvia at a very young age, and the movie responsible – Poltergeist. The precocious pair would also tear through Stephen King novels as quickly as they could get their eager little hands on them. And much like the rest of us genre fans, in the heyday of VHS and video stores, the impressionable pair would take pleasure in perusing the horror section of their local video

Fans On A Mission To Get Jen And Sylvia Soska On As Directors For Deadpool 2

Deadpool is one of the best movies released this year. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are already hard at work on the script for ‘Deadpool 2’. Unfortunately, the film has hit a speed bump. Director Tim Miller has stepped away from the project due to “mutual creative differences” with star Ryan Reynolds who plays Deadpool, according to EW. The film may not be without a director long. Horror fans are pushing for the sister directing duo of Jen and Sylvia Soska to direct. Fans are Tweeting, posting on Facebook and Instagram in hopes that the studio will pay attention and sign the Twisted Twins to the project. The multi-talented sisters have several titles on their list, like ‘American Mary’ and ‘See No Evil 2’. They also host GSN’s competition series ‘Hellevator’. They are extremely talented and we would love to see them direct a big budget film. With the help of fans they will. The ladies have a lot

The second season is gearing up to premiere this October. The Soskas have tricks in store as contestants who take a trip on an elevator down to different levels and make their way from challenge to challenge inside terrifying locations with the hope of scoring $50,000. This season the series will explore the 7 Deadly Sins: Lust, Gluttony, Sloth, Wrath, Greed, Envy, and Pride. Jen and Sylvia Soska’s names should sound familiar. Not only are they talented writers, actresses, and show hosts, they are also fantastic directors and producers. They have directed many films together including ‘Dead Hooker in a Trunk’, ‘American Mary’, ‘See No Evil 2’, ‘ABCs of Death 2’, and ‘Vendetta‘ starring Dean Caine, Paul Wight and Michael Eklund. The Soska Sisters Set To Direct ‘Plastic’

Jen and Sylvia Soska, known as the “Twisted Twins” are getting ready to direct their latest project ‘Plastic’. ‘Plastic’ follows the story of a renowned Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, who risks everything to find the truth behind the grotesque disfigurement of an international pop star. Frank Strausser penned the screenplay, based on the adaption of his own novel by the same name. The movie is now in preproduction. The directing duo have titles such as ‘American Mary’, ‘See No Evil 2’ and their latest film, ‘Vendetta’ starring Dean Cain, under their fashionable belts. These two fantastic women, who mostly work within the horror genre, are not only talented, they are also extremely in touch with their legion of fans. They are my favorite up and coming directors. I look forward to following the careers of Jen and Sylvia and I can’t wait to see ‘Plastic’. We will keep you posted as the movie develops. To learn more about the Soska
