‘A Seed In A Soil Of Sorrow’ Is A Fantastic, Horrifying Short Story (Review)

There are not many things I love reading more than short stories. Make it a horror short stories and it makes it better. Make it a horror short story about a wicked cult and it piques my interest even more. Make it a horror short story about a wicked cult and write it in a unique way and you have an instant winner for me. Keith Anthony Baird has done the perfect recipe in his short story A Seed in a Soil of Sorrow. Characters In stories about cults, the most important character is the cult leader. It is hard to create a character charismatic and intelligent enough to have both the characters in the book and the readers understand why the cult is intriguing. It is also difficult to not just follow a cookie cutter pattern of successful cult leader characters, but to create a unique leader. Baird not only creates a leader who is charismatic, intriguing, and believable,

Season three of the series “Etheria“, featuring 11 new episodes, is landing on Amazon this November. “Etheria” Season 3 takes viewers to strange new worlds with shorts directed by women giving center stage to medieval warlords and magicians, musical androids, apocalyptic western gunslingers, inescapable time loops, a buddy comedy with a dead body, middle-aged female mercenary assassins, homicidal hairstylists, demented surreal slashers, and spare body parts. Paul C. Williams Creates A Dark World Worth Exploring in ‘The Shadow Of Hades’ – Book Review

The Shadow of Hades by Paul C. Williams is a very interesting and dark book. Four stories, intertwined, but not in obvious ways (think Trick R’ Treat style story-weaving). Williams took on a huge challenge with this book and really showed his ability as a writer by creating a novel with such depth and strength. I love that he didn’t fall prey to having to have each page so action-packed that people mistake adrenaline for a good plot. The plot is exceptionally strong and draws the reader in if you’re willing to put in the work Williams demands (and deserves) as a reader. Characters The characters in this book are deep and diverse. I felt very attached emotionally to the majority of them and with the style of Williams’ writing, there was time and space to really learn about the character…but also wanting more. I wanted more because I cared about their story, I cared about who they were and
