Movie Review: Candy Corn (2019)

A group of bullying jackanapes decide to spend All Hallows Eve buggin’ the shit out of townie odd-ball Jacob (Nate Chaney)… who just so happens to have found a temp gig as a carney at Dr. Death’s Side Show Spook House Spectacular. Soon the torment goes to far, Jacob takes a dirt nap, and is resurrected (due in no small part to his freaky new friends) with his mind set on lappin’ up some sweet, sweet revenge against those what done him wrong. Writer/Director Josh Hasty (creator of the mega-cool pic Honeyspider, which yours cruelly slapped a revoltin’ review on ages ago right here) seems to have only one goal in mind with Candy Corn, and that is distilling the essence of the haunted Halloween holiday and committing it to sinful celluloid for all to see! I’m pleased as poisoned punch to let you cats n’ creeps know; he succeeded like a mother fucker! Everything from the color palette, to

Preview: Welcome Autumn With The ‘Moon Festival’ Box From BOKKSU

Well, BOKKSU was awesome enough to send me a preview of their upcoming Moon Festival box! BOKKSU is a monthly subscription like a lot of those box sites, but this one sends you snacks directly from Japan! Each month the box is themed and for September, the theme is based on the traditional Japanese Moon viewing festival (also known as Tsukimi, Otsukimi, or Jugoya). This year the celebration is on September 13th to the 16th. The festival is to celebrate the arrival of the fall harvest moon and to welcome autumn.

Movie Review: Into the Dark: School Spirit (2019)

Goody-two-shoes Erica (Annie Q) unbelievably finds herself slammed into weekend detention, and before you can say “This shit seems like The Breakfast Club” she suffers the barbs of the various reprobates stuck in there with her as well as the ‘tude of the gruff-as-all-shit Vice Principal runnin’ the show. Talk among that gang of goofs soon turns to the urban legend of a g-g-ghost dressed as an admiral that haunts those hallowed halls…and the fact some of them believe said specter is behind students that have recently gone missing. Soon the kids end up being locked in the school, and of course what was thought to be mere legend is in fact a murderous reality!
