Chucky Gets Axed!

Sad news in the world of horror today. After 3 full seasons, the TV series CHUCKY has officially been canceled by Syfy/USA, as reported by Variety. The show enjoyed a solid run, bringing back series stalwarts such as the legendary Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky, Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany (and herself), and Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay all grown up. We also got some great additions like Zachary Arthur as Jake, Alyvia Alyn Lind as Lexy, Bjorgvin Arnarson as Devon, and even Devon Sawa as POTUS. The incredible Fiona Dourif portraying a young version of Charles Lee Ray was the highlight of the show for me. The way she mirrored her father’s performance from the original “Child’s Play” was nothing short of spectacular. Unfortunately, none of this was enough to save the show from the inevitable chopping block. If I’m being frank, though, after the less than stellar, awfully messy and convoluted season 3, I’m really not all

Maxxxine’s Star Dims in the Third Act – Mia Goth Shines Throughout!

The third film in Ti West’s trilogy, MAXXXINE, starring Mia Goth (as Maxine), Kevin Bacon, and Simon Prast, was… okay. It’s wonderfully shot, with a slick, totally 80’s, neon noir vibe. I was intrigued, fully engrossed by the seedy underbelly of 1980’s Hollywood. There’s porn stars, cocaine, some cool kills, and a great soundtrack. I liked it – until it all fell apart in the third act. Slight spoilers ahead, but I won’t ruin the film. Maxine Minx is a long way from where we last saw her in “X.” Now a famous adult film star, and living in Hollywood, she finally lands a role in an upcoming horror movie. When her friends become the latest victims of a serial killer stalking the area, she runs into a shady, slick talking P.I., played by Kevin Bacon, who threatens to reveal her murderous past. Of course, as we all know, it’s a very bad idea to threaten Maxine Minx. The set

Robert Kiviat on the Mandela Effect Phenomenon!

The Mandela Effect. Maybe you’ve experienced it, but if not, there’s a good chance you’ve at least heard of it by now. Named after Nelson Mandela, and the fact that many people remember his past differently, claiming he died in prison and was never released. The name has now been applied to several instances throughout history, some big, some small, and nobody seems to know what the heck is going on. Except for maybe Robert Kiviat, the brain behind the new documentary, THE MANDELA EFFECT PHENOMENON. We recently had the chance to chat with Robert, and while he will be the first to admit that he doesn’t have all of the answers, he does have an interesting theory, and some really convincing insight into this strange, undeniable phenomena. Horror Fuel: Hi Robert! Before we get into it here, I have to ask – Do you believe in the Mandela Effect, and is it something you have experienced? Robert Kiviat: Absolutely.

Finally! A Teaser for ‘Alien: Romulus’ Lands!

It’s finally here! Earlier today, the first panic-inducing teaser trailer for Fede Álvarez’s ALIEN: ROMULUS arrived, and – oh boy! It’s tense, mysterious, and bloody! We’ve all been salivating for a taste of what’s to come, and I must say, this teaser does not disappoint! My excitement started bubbling when I first heard that Fede Álvarez was involved in a new entry in the Alien franchise. I liked Don’t Breathe, and Evil Dead 2013 was awesome. After seeing this teaser, my excitement is boiling over! This one might be good! One thing I noticed was how quick the Facehugger seems to be now. Did you see that little guy go? Man, it’s fast! As if an alien that wraps around your face and plants babies in your belly wasn’t terrifying enough. Geesh. The overall vibe of the teaser is on point. It’s a living panic attack, building a ton of tension during its fairly short run time. The fact that

Hammer’s DOCTOR JEKYLL Is Fun, Yet Flawed

It’s a Hammer film, for better and worse. A modern reimagining of Louis Stevenson’s classic novella The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Hammer’s DOCTOR JEKYLL manages to entertain, but fails to stick the perfect landing. Spoilers follow. I’ll try to keep them light. Writers: Dan Kelly-Mulhern/Robert Louis Stevenson Director: Joe Stephenson Cast: Eddie Izzard, Scott Chambers, Lindsay Duncan, Simon Callow, Jonathan Hyde, Morgan Watkins, Robyn Cara Run Time: 89 Mins The film is an interesting take on the well-known Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde dynamic. Eddie Izzard plays our titular character, Dr. Nina Jekyll. A pharmaceutical tycoon who’s made a fortune in the business. When scandal hits, it’s all placed in immediate jeopardy. The idea of an evil pharmaceutical mogul is anything but new, but it works in this setting. Paced well, and never too grandiose, the story manages to keep your attention, feeding you just enough to keep you invested, without giving everything away too early.

TWISTED METAL Revival Rumors Heat Back Up!

Just saying the two words TWISTED METAL brings a certain, childish nostalgia to the faces of PlayStation gamers everywhere. Well, at least to the faces of the ones my age, it does. It absolutely hooked my group of friends when it came out. It’s primal carnage, brought to life by PlayStation’s ground breaking graphics and fitted into our teenaged hands, was certainly a glory to behold. Okay, maybe you had to be there, but the charm of the longstanding franchise can be broken down quite simply. Blowing up your friends is fun as hell. In 1995, the original game spawned not only a mega franchise that lasted until 2012, but also a flurry of try-hard carbon copies. Fans are clamoring for a new entry in the series. It’s been absent for so long, that it’s easy to see why. Whispers of TWISTED METAL returning to the video game world have swirled around for years. There’s no doubt that avid fans

Trailer for Lo-Fi-Sci-fi Thriller MONOLITH! Starring Lilly Sullivan!

MONOLITH is an upcoming sci-fi thriller starring the talented Lilly Sullivan (Evil Dead Rise), set to release on Friday, February 16th! Written by Lucy Campbell, and directed by Matt Vesely, you can check out the synopsis, and full trailer for the film below! “While trying to salvage her career, a disgraced journalist begins investigating a strange conspiracy theory. However, as the trail leads uncomfortably close to home, she’s left to grapple with the lies at the heart of her own story.” MONOLITH is a unique beast. It was shot in just one singular location, and it stars only one actress, Lilly Sullivan. I was honestly a little bit skeptical at first. This trailer has me sold, though. I definitely want to see what Lilly Sullivan brings to the table this time. Especially after her stellar performance in Evil Dead Rise. She’ll have her work cut out for her, but I really don’t think she’ll have any problem carrying this film

The Asylem’s PLANET QUAKE Trailer!

The Earth Will Never Be the Same… The planet has had enough of us. That’s the basic premise behind The Asylum’s PLANET QUAKE, a natural disaster thriller written and directed by Monroe Robertson (S.W.A.T. The TV series 2017, Magnum P.I. The TV series 2018). It’s set to hit select theatres and VOD on January 26th, and if you like disaster movies, you might want to put this one on your radar! It certainly looks intense, with a more serious tone than I expected! The film stars genre stalwart Michael Paré (Eddie and the Cruisers, Streets of Fire), Erica Duke (Bikini Spring Break, Aquarium of the Dead), and Anthony Jensen (Alien Conquest, Doomsday Meteor). Centering around, you guessed it, a bunch of devastating, giant earthquakes plaguing the planet – it looks like it will be up to science (and Michael Paré) to save the day! With 65 hours until total destruction, things are bound to get hectic! You can check out
