Game Review: ‘Shadow Man: Remastered’

Back in 1999, I had a Nintendo 64 console and that sucker got me through a lot of things by offering me hours of escapism from the hells of puberty and entering High School. One of the games I played the hell out of was Shadow Man, at the time it was a pretty badass game with memorable moments, and I played the hell out of it. Since then I’ve gone on to play many other games and developed memories and loves for other titles, with some of the N64 ones slowly fading away and just becoming pleasant memories. That was till Nightdive Studios came kicking down my Nistolgia door with a remastered version of Shadow Man, and I would be crazy to have said no and let this opportunity pass! For those not familiar with the game, Shadow Man is about Michael LeRoi who by day looks like a normal human man but at night he becomes Shadow Man,

Game Review: ‘S.W.A.N. Chernobyl Unexplored’

Again I find myself exploring the radioactive nightmare that is Chernobyl, but this time I’m exploring the fictional S.W.A.N. Institute in this psychological horror S.W.A.N. Chernobyl Unexplored. I want to give a thank you to Volframe and Art Games Studio S.A. for the review opportunity! S.W.A.N. Chernobyl Unexplored takes players back to the exclusion zone 9 months after the nuclear meltdown and evacuations after signs of life were detected at the S.W.A.N. (Syndromes Without A Name) Institute. Players are part of a rescue team sent in but soon after arriving, all members of the team are separated and we are forced to explore the institute and all its puzzles and nightmarish creatures alone. Onto the game itself! This is a first-person puzzle exploring game and right away if you’re wondering, yeah it’s, unfortunately, following the same formula of other first-person psychological horrors where the scenery changes when you turn corners, open doors that lead nowhere, and when you turn around

Top 5 Reviewed Horror Games Of 2021

The gaming industry surely made up for lost time this year and horror games were among them. I’ve reviewed a lot of games this year and there were quite a few horror titles among them. going through my lists I picked out all the horror titles and broke down the list more to pick out games that were fun, had good scares, and were just overall good horror games. So without further ado, here’s the Top 5 Horror Games Reviewed in 2021 starting off from good and working our way up to best! 5: The Medium Bloober Team is no stranger to making good horror games but The Medium was on another level with its amazing artwork showing the world of the living and the dead through the eyes of a psychic. The game follows Marianne, a medium who visits an old soviet resort in 1999 Poland after being called upon to investigate. Marianne soon learns that something very wrong

Game Review: ‘Back 4 Blood’

Turtle Rock Studios is made up of the same folks who made the legendary FPS zombie kill fests Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 so when it was revealed that they were making Back 4 Blood you bet your ass I was excited as I played the hell out of the L4D games! So when I got the chance to review this game I was excited… then things went sour (more on that in a few). Unfortunately, things did not get better but I still want to thank Turtle Rock and Warner Bro Games for the opportunity for this review. Back 4 Blood follows a group of survivors known as Cleaners who venture out as a sort of kill squad that goes after the Ridden, people infected by parasitic worms that turn them into zombie-like creatures, with some mutating into monsters. Onto the game itself. When it comes to the controls they’re…OK. it’s your standard FPS control scheme

Game Review: ‘The Gunk’

Things suck on this planet, could it be worse anywhere else? Well, Thunderful has shown that the grass is not always greener on other worlds in their sci-fi exploration game The Gunk. The Gunk takes players to an unknown world where they play as Rani, voiced by Fiona Nova (Rooster Teeth), who along with Becks, voiced by Abigail Turner (Remothered: Broken Porcelain) landed on a strange planet where they hope to find resources that could make them rich but instead discover a planet full of Gunk, a festering growth that’s slowly killing the planet and hides secrets to an ancient civilization. Onto the game itself, the controls for The Gunk are pretty straightforward and thankfully minimal and respond well especially during combat. When it comes to interacting with the Gunk itself it’s very satisfying using your power glove to suck it up, seriously it’s unusually satisfying! The sound design is pretty good, the soundtrack is OK but some of the

Game Review: ‘Kingdoms Of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Fatesworn’

THQ Nordic yesterday released a large expansion to their RPG adventure Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. This DLC titled Fatesworn continues the story after the events of the game’s main story set years later with the god of chaos Telogrus awakening and wishing to bring chaos to the world of Amalur, not wanting to see your hard work of bringing peace back to the land, you again set out to put this god in his place! There’s really not much I can say without spoiling the story, but when it comes to the game itself, you can refer to my previous review of the main game HERE as pretty much the game’s controls, graphics, and sound are no different now as they were previously BUT I will say the map has improved where the minimap is no longer locked in place (you can change that in the options if this option was always there I’ll admit I missed that!). What I

The Real Life ‘Purge’ And Christmas

Over the years you at one point must have heard people say, or post on social media, that they either wonder if or wish that the Purge was or could be real. The 2013 film The Purge gave audiences uncomfortable feelings, or awkward excitement… and spawned four sequels and a television series. The story takes place in a dystopian/utopia society where once a year all crimes are legal (but people seem to REALLY be into the murdering kind), and the films focus on either an individual or groups of individuals trying to survive the night of lawlessness. In the films the idea behind having a Purge was to give the masses a release resulting in lower crime rates during the rest of the year and the economy thrived from it, spoiler alert, in real life just one purge night would completely destroy a country financially since all emergency services (like fire fighting) would not be in service, a lot of
