I’m selective when it comes to playing RPGs, but when I was told about ELEX II, a game that combines sci-fi futurism with a medieval twist, I had to take a look. A big thank you to THQ Nordic and Piranha Bytes for the reviewing opportunity! ELEX II is an open-world third-person game where you play as Jax, the hero from the first installment of the series who after defeating one threat to the planet of Magalan, is the first to notice a new extraterrestrial threat set on terraforming the planet. Jax now is sent on a quest from a former foe to gather an army to fight the menace while working with different warring factions. Now onto ELEX II itself. The game’s controls will take time to get used to, especially if you’re using a controller as it appears that some of the buttons perform more than one action which can get Jax into trouble. For example, the button

Wired Productions and LKA are back after the success of The Town of Light to bring players face to face with horrors of loss and war with their new dark psychological thriller Martha is Dead. The game recently made headlines as the game will be heavily modified for PlayStation due to some of the game’s content that’s been deemed too disturbing, luckily for you gorehounds, the copy I was sent is unaffected by the modifications! I want to thank Wired and LKA for the reviewing opportunity! Martha is Dead takes place in Italy in 1944 where players take on the role of Giulia, a young woman obsessed with a local legend surrounding the lake near her family’s vineyard. While trying to set up a camera to capture the ghost of a lady in white, Giulia finds her identical twin sister Martha in the lake dead and after recovering her body and through confusion, she assumes the identity of her now-dead

It’s been a long and bumpy road for CD Projekt Red after it released Cyberpunk 2077 a year ago to a Space X style disastrous launch (yep, I went there) that resulted in a major lawsuit ( four separate class-action lawsuits that were combined into one mega lawsuit) filed by fans and investors as the game failed to deliver on a couple of years of hype as the game at launch was described by many as incomplete and accusations were made against CDPR for knowingly releasing an incomplete game. It’s been just over a year, and several updates later, CDPR released Cyberpunk 2077 to next-gen consoles along with a major update promising to fix major issues. Did they really fix anything? Let’s see. I’ll admit, I did not play the game when it did first come out, another claim made against CDPR is that they kept many gaming journalists in the dark at launch and only gave review codes to

Sergey Noskov, the indie developer behind In Rays of Light and 7th Sector is back with their new walking sim “survival horror” (as it’s said to be on Steam) post-apocalyptic game 35MM. I would like to thank the Developer and publisher Sometimes You for the review opportunity. 35MM takes place in Russia after a global Pandemic wiped out most the of population. The story follows two travelers who are wandering the Russian countryside making their way towards a city where our main character lives. The controls in 35MM are a bit tricky and seem to now be meant for controllers, and don’t seem to respond well at times, especially during combat. The game was also classified as an FPS/Shooter, but the combat mechanics in the game leaves a lot to be desired as you can’t aim, and enemies have a lot more health than you. There are moments you have to do button mashing but most of the time it’s

Indie game developer Pet Project Games is getting a major boost with their newly formed partnership with legendary game publisher 3D Realms to get their latest project out later this year, first-person sci-fi horror shooter RIPOUT. RIPOUT takes players to the year 2084 as one of Humanity’s lone survivors. Earth developed a bio-weapon to fight off an alien invasion, but in typical sci-fi horror fashion…it turned against us. Now surrounded by mutated creatures once human, you must fight for survival with your living weapon. RIPOUT will feature procedurally generated levels with a variety of objectives, hoards of enemies who can configure their bodies requiring you to exploit their weaknesses, customizable weapon loadouts and character classes, 10 to 20 minute long missions, scalable difficulty (the more players, the harder the gameplay), single-player or online co-op with up to four players. RIPOUT is expected to be released later in 2022 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Nightdive Studios and Throwback Entertainment are back with another classic game for modern players, this time a classic FPS from 1996 that takes players to pixilated Egypt where they must halt an alien invasion and help the spirit of King Ramses defeat the growing evil that’s about to be unleashed on the world! A bit shoutout to Nightdive and Throwback for the reviewing opportunity! In PowerSlave Exhumed the controls are optimized for modern controllers, luckily there’s a lull at the start of the game that can allow you to play around with the controls to get a feel of the layout. Other than that, this game is a fun callback for those of us who grew up playing FPS games like Wolfenstein and DOOM on MS-DOS. The soundtrack, sound effects, (4k) graphics of pixilated violence, it’s everything old-school gamers loved from our humble beginnings. I hope that gamers not familiar with these kinds of games will give PowerSlave Exhumed a

Now players are tasked with returning to the world of Dying Light but now the infection is no longer contained and ravaged the world and where they must fight not only for survival but to literally stay human, this is Dying Light 2: Stay Human.
